Not as easy to drink as a Mezzan, but lots of pleasure after a good toast. Strong notes of French casks.

Once rested and oxygenated, the initial burn on both the nose and palate tail off. This a fairly pungent and complex rum. Has all the classic Jamaican traits on the palate. Smooth for a young rum, but by no means a smooth sipper, but absolutely fine for my palate. It's rough edge is actually what gives this it's character. Is it really well balanced? No. Is it super smooth? No. Does it burn a bit? Yes. Is there a lingering bitterness? Yes. However it packs a punch in flavour and does have a good lengthy spicy finish. All in all, a good tasty Jamaican rum bottled above 40' for extra flavour and bite. Is it worth it? I got sample super cheap so had to try it. Glad I bought the 3 samples. I've enjoyed all 3 immensely. I'm unable to compare against any similar products in my collection, or against anything I've had in the past. Good rum.
