Back to the best time of the year 🤤🥃 #1st advent RumXCalendar Blind tasting: Nose: Minty, fruity, rubber, woody, roasted. Palate: Minty, rubber, caramel, black tea, roasted, woody, barrel notes, floral. Finish: long, minty, woody, barrel notes, a bit a astringency, chocolate, at the end it‘s get more floral, herbal, notes of the sugarcane = agricole like. On the palate the alcohol starts very spicy, but then it‘s gets better. I enjoyed this a lot. Just a great start👍🏻🥃 Chapeau RumX Team My Prediction: Guyana PM Approx. 50% Approx. 20 years of aging

der erste aus dem RumX Kalender. An der Nase würzig (Muskatnuss, Piment), getrocknete Aprikose, Kräuter, Fass und Karamellsüße. Am Gaumen ziemlich kräftige, röstige Noten und irgendwie etwas medizinisches (Krankenhausflur). Guter und interessanter Bielle, aber auch noch Luft nach oben, zu den ausgezeichneten Les Rhum Vieux Abfüllungen.

27.11.22 RumX Advent Zu Beginn Foursquare in der Nase, später dann kommen einige dreckige Noten dazu. Im Mund ebenfalls. Hat mich auf die Fährte Sancti Spiritus geführt. Sehr füllig und komplex im Geschmack. Dennoch wunderbar geschmeidig und ausbalanciert.

Blind verkostet… für mich nicht eindeutig…ich hatte immer wieder eine leichte Klebstoffnote in der Nase die mich irritiert hat! Insgesamt ein angenehmer Bielle und schöner Start in den RumX-Kalender 2022!

Un Bielle très complet qui offre un beau voyage en Guadeloupe. Le nez se veut très riche en fruits tropicaux et secs, avec quelques notes d’agrumes, puis viennent des arômes épicés, des notes florales et boisées, puis de la gourmandise apportée par des amandes et du chocolat au lait. L’attaque en bouche est plus sèche et prenante, avec pas mal d’épices qui s’intensifient au palais, des notes florales et de menthol qui rafraîchissent l’ensemble, des fruits secs, des noix et des notes médicinales qui offrent un ensemble complet et maîtrisé. La finale, un poil courte, exhibe des notes épicées, toastées et mentholées, sur un fond de cuir et de cacao. Un profil joliment réussi, varié et évolutif.

Typischer Bielle, in einer stärkeren Ausführung. Alkohol könnte jedoch besser eingebunden sein. Die Abfüllung ist komplex und intensiv. Herbale Noten mit viel Karamell und Würze ist bei diesem Rum zu finden.

Weihnachtskalender 2022 Im blind Tasting mit T.D.L total daneben gelegen Nase: zunächst Fruchtig und der Eindruck von Grappa, mit mehr Zeit zunehmend floraler. Gaumen: mächtig! Sehr würzig und viel Fass. Daneben Süße, Kräuter und eine leichte medizinische Note (blind fälschlich als Whisky Finish interpretiert). Nachklang: die Würze und das Holz bleiben sehr lange, daneben florale Noten. Schöner kräftiger Agricole!

14.05.2022 Had a nice meet up with some nice rums, good friends and also new rum enthusiasts. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Medium intense, light wood, light caramel, raisin, light herbs, faint rubber, light citrus. Palate Oily, round, balanced, sugarcane, light floral, light caramel, medium spicy, light licorice, light roasted wood. Finish Medium long, fresh, oily, light herbs, vegetal, light licorice. Extra note. Needs to rest in order to release all its flavours.

RumX Adventskalender 1. Advent Geruch: Nach dem einschenken dominiert zuerst Frucht mit würzigen Holznoten. Hätte hier auf Barbados/Foursquare getippt. Nach etwas Zeit im Glas kommen floralere Noten dazu: Kräutertee. Geschmack: Anders als erwartet, deutlich weniger Frucht. Sehr würzig/holzig mit pflanzlichen Noten zwischen Artischocke und Minze, kräuterig. Abgang: verkohlt, entwickelt sich aber mit der Zeit zunehmend zu leckeren Kräutern

Un rhum du même embouteilleur Suisse que le Courcelles 1972. Un nez étonnant d’herbes amères (amaro) de pâtisseries, de fruits exotiques et de poivre noir. Le poivre et le piment attaquent en premier en bouche, malheureusement les autres arômes sont un peu plus simples qu’au nez. La finale est toujours sur le piquant et à la fin les fruits et les herbes amères sont de retour. Le verre vide exhale des arômes de vieux bois et de douceur très agréables. Un beau nez surprenant mais la bouche est clairement en retrait.

RumX advent 2022 prelude, blind: The longer it sits and with every little sip, I get a “hidden agricole vibe”. Minty/eucalyptus and a bit of peppery sharpness with subtle lingering agricole flavors in the aftertaste for me. The only distillery I ever had this experience with (not agricole but yet agricole) is Bielle. But I would be very surprised if this would be correct. Well what do you know, I guess I’m surprised 😁

RumX Adventskalender 27.11.22: Blind für einen Low-Ester Jamaika-Rum gehalten. Hat eine Note, die mich stark an das EMB-Mark erinnerte, im Abgang dann viel Holz. Sehr rund und mild, dürfte jedoch ein wenig mehr Volumen und Power haben.

zunächst strömt Klebstoff entgegen verfliegt aber schnell und weicht Kokos und Frucht, Aprikose nehme ich wahr. Angenehm zurückhaltend aber schon sehr einladend. Am Gaumen dann direkt etwas verkohlt rauchiges wahrnehmbar das sich dann etwas setzt und Raum für ordentlich würze lässt, die auch im Finish gut präsent bleibt. Sehr schöner Start ins Adventskalender -Vergnügen. Mit Luft nach oben 😉
