Glue and nail-polish remover hit first, then the buttery, oily body that makes DOK the loudest ester mark Hampden runs. Underneath sit yellow fruits, hazelnut and a crème brûlée sweetness, with faint coffee and cocoa on the finish before the solvent comes roaring back. At 64.3% it's a wall neat — one taster only warmed to the funk with time. The sherry cask barely registers beyond the color.

Well-made DOK, honestly I don't notice the sherry influence at all except for the color. Nice spice, little fruit, but intense hazelnut, creme brulee and confectionery notes and subtle roasted/smoky. In the finish then subtly reminiscent of coffee and cocoa and then comes the full blast of glue and nail polish remover. Tasty and pleasant but not a revelation, especially the price of over 150€ for 0.5l is not justified and the look reminds more of a 20€ pharmacy gin than a high-quality rum 🤷🏼♂️ My lips are slowly sticking as if I applied fat cream, feels good! Screw Bepanthol lip balm, treat yourself to some DOK against chapped lips 🤣💯
