Tasting a few Caronis from Bristol. A historic Caroni preserved at the distillery in stainless steel tanks and diluted with neutral alcohol (from Caroni). This is exactly what pre-Luca Caroni might have looked like. Caroni FELICITE" was an official Caroni bottling. The nose is light with tropical fruit, butter and machine shop. The attack on the palate is light, then the aromas rise in power, but nothing spectacular. The finish is too short, alas. The empty glass is beautiful, with a nice mechanical workshop. A disappointing Caroni for the connoisseur, but very drinkable and perfect to add to my ice cream. Below the Bristol VSOC 2003.

I had the opportunity to buy this bottle for €65 and I can't say NO to it 😛 It's verly light in the nose (like a 10y old Panama rum, the flavours are not typical Caroni). The taste is better, but it's still not a typical Caroni. Felicite Gold has some Trinidad aromas like medicine in the taste, but there is still not enough dirty aromas. Maybe it's not bad to know what rum Caroni has produced in the early days.

Very smooth rum with light Caroni accents. Sweet. Great story behind it (can I recommend Steffen's Caroni book).

Bristol Caroni comparison: rather weak, at the beginning still nicely fruity & floral with honey and vanilla notes, it remains pale on the tongue. A few fruits are added and the overall impression is positive, but the dilution leaves little room for exploration. Very short finish.

Pleasant Caroni. Compared to the heavy Velier Caronis, this is a lightweight in terms of taste. Reduced to ABV 40%, this is a very drinkable rum. A little more percentage would certainly have done it good.

Relaxed sipping caroni, unfortunately a little too watered down. Nevertheless, an absolutely beautiful caroni representative that clearly shows what caroni was originally and how the profile has tasted without velier influence!

There is some Caroni flavor there.

Seductive nose but too reduced. Remains caramel on the palate and not much more. No interest
Review by jems5
Typical Caroni mechanical workshop nose, but more discreet, the alcohol is stronger than the 40 announced, but on the palate it's a little diluted, rather short and disappointing for a Caroni.
