Woody and spicy up front, with vanilla and a run of dried fruit — prunes keep coming up — underneath. It's a young Guadeloupe agricole finished in new oak (and, one taster notes, ex-cognac), so the barrel does a lot of the talking. Several find the palate fruitier and livelier than the nose promises. At 60% it's warm but not aggressive; give it a rest in the glass.

#4649 09.03.2024 relaxing at home with some nice samples from a good friend. Nose Wood, light roasted, plum, dried fruit, spices, sugarcane, floral. Palate Wood, light roasted, spices, intense, medium dry, plum, fruity, faint chocolate, floral. Finish Medium to long, wood, prunes, floral, light chocolate, light coffee. ABV is pretty well integrated and the rum needs to rest. The empty glass has some citrus and sugarcane.

Un rhum vif par son degré d’alcool mais très bien réalisé avec beaucoup de subtilité. Les 60° ne sont pas agressifs en bouche. La complexité est très agréable.

More powerful than the first batch. The mouth is very surprising and much more fruity than the nose. Shortly after the fruit comes the spices which quickly take over with a rather pleasant wood in the background. The finish is a little too alcoholic for my taste but quite long.

Un Guadeloupéen un peu juste en arômes je trouve, avec des marqueurs que l'on connaît déjà sans casser 3 pâtes a un canard. Cependant cela reste bon a boir avec un jolie boisé.
