23.11.2025 Found a few other old samples from Nobilis that want to check out. This one is still really nice and fresh. ------------- A really nice cask from Hampden that they bottled here. Lightly funky but well balanced/rounded and pretty good ABV integration. Flavours released after 15-20 minutes of rest. The empty glass is wonderful after an hour. Need to find me a bottle for my shelf.

Very tasty.... From the nose to the finish very successful... it comes along relatively strong and self-confident... it contains all the important Hampden markers (pure ester), which fits and the price is perfectly okay here!

Nobilis N14 vs. SBS. Crown goes to the Nobilis. While both are extremely nice, the SBS feels more heavy and closed up. The Nobilis almost feels elegant with a very nice balance between esters and notes from the cask. Both are beasts however and I‘m surprised how much I like the actually. Nice cask selection from both bottlers.

Very delicious, complex, elegant Rum with all the lovely smells and tastes a Hampden Rum can/must have. Nose: Wunderfull notes of ester, glue, nail polish, fruity, grilled pineapple, mango, sour. Mouth: dry, funky, a bit astringend, delicious, complex, fruity, pineapple, banana, mango, papaya, citrus, young wood, barrel, vanilla, toasted Finish: long and delicious with notes of ester, young wood, roasted, espresso, pineapple and olives

Ester, glue, pineapple, mango, citrus and fermented fruit on the nose. Intense and creamy/oily on the palate with lots of ripe and overripe fruit, glue. Overall, the ester/gluten notes are very present here. The finish is very long. Alcohol is also perfectly integrated.

Very round <>H. I like it clearly better than the S.B.S (RX12623) from the same year. For me, it’s somewhere between the excellent 2001 Old Brothers (RX9659) and the 2011 Swell (RX10576).

I like the rum especially in the nose. If I may dare an adventurous comparison: like marzipan doused with warm solvent 😉 Extraordinary!Update 04.04.2022: The is so superbly round and quaffable that I have to add 3 to my 87 points awarded so far. Absolutely successful rum without weaknesses!

Surprisingly fruity on the nose! If he stands a little eucalyptus comes in.Also on the palate the fruitiest Hampden I have tasted so far. The finish tastes like a very fruity espresso with a young wood note.The smell is the absolute hammer, which alone would crack the 90 points. Taste is also top and surprisingly drinkable for the almost 70%, but does not quite keep up with the nose.

A brilliant Hampden! Nose is amazing, lots of Glue and esters, fruity on the palate with just the right amount of oak, Beautifully integrated. A very long finish, just goes on and on and on. Very enjoyable.

What a blast, a very successful Hampden. There's really nothing more to say. Wow! Even on re-tasting, it remains the highlight. I still regret not buying a bottle when I had the chance.

When integration rhymes with perfection, you get this. A rum with a very fat, greedy nose, with beautiful notes of dairy products (cream, yoghurt), Jamaican funk (esters, glue, varnish, solvents and exotic fruits), a touch of olive and spices. The profile is smooth, but needs time to really reveal itself. Roundness on the palate. The alcohol is extremely well integrated. There are lovely fruity notes of banana, mango, pineapple and papaya, followed by lime, medicinal notes (esters, varnish, glue) and tannic oak. Olive and caramel soften the funk for a balanced, gourmand and intense whole. A terribly good and effective cocktail. The pleasure continues with a beautiful, funky, aromatic finish of exotic fruit, phenolic and fermented notes. The olive and the tannic, spicy, dry and astringent character give a lively finish. An excellent representative of the house, balanced, elegant and powerful at the same time. The integration of alcohol makes the difference here compared to the SBS, which is more aggressive for a similar profile.

Very nice release. 6 years tropical and 2 years continental. Esters are present, I like the young <>H clearly more than the 2001 bottlings. The alcohol is super integrated in my eyes. Priced at 129€ a fair release and I hope people drink it and it doesn't become a pinball object. Reminds me of the Swell 2011 <>H.Now comes the test in May Tai 5/5 should be in it.🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🥰

9:On the nose, from a first moment, it is evident that in front of us, we have an incredible rum, tons of esters, tropical fruits are overripe, even rotten for a moment.We have pineapple, mango, banana, citrus and more.There is very tempting marzipan, molasses with an olive. Solvents don't disrupt the balance and roundedness of this rum.Roasted wood brings us more sweetness with honey, pastry, fruitcake and later, after airing, mocha, when the molasses gets darker with a licorice and smoke. 8,9:On the palate, the attack is strong with esters, tropical fruits are overripe, for a moment rotten, with pineapple, banana, mango, perhaps some other exotic fruits, there are dried figs, prunes from driedfruits, the wood is sweet, spicy and roasted with some caramel, marzipan, brioche and vanilla, allspice.The molasses nestles some olive in its hands. Some rest helps citrus to pop up, solvents are not disturbing the balance much, fruitcake notes is very tasty, there is a pinch of salt. 9:The finish is intense and long, delicious with earthy, smoky touch, dry, a bit tannic with palate tasty notes continuing, lingering on..

An Ester Bomb, of course. Ananas, Esters and some rotten tropical fruit to the nose and tongue. The aftertaste has a strong wood influence, which I like as it changes the taste completely while the Drink rolls over the tongue. Alcohol is noticeable, but well integrated, meaning: no harsh burn for me. Almonds or Marzipan I cannot detect, I may be oblivious to some lighter smells (especially) in general. This is no easy sipper, however, this Rum demands your attention.

Verdict: Deep and complex, powerful and rounded. Traditional Hampden markers meet great wood, spice, olive and brine. 89 points Nose: a very deep nose of banana (custard), kumquat, then ester (nailpolish, varnish, menthol), olive, wood, roasted, baking spice, even some white tobacco. Palate: Rounded, but powerful. Sweet, on banana candy, haribo, creamy banana custard, baking spice, roasted wood, olive in brine, varnish, tobacco. Finish: long, with a dominance of varnish, banana foam, wood, olive. All the other notes are there too, mainly onnthe background, but beautifully complementing this complex finale.

Tasted right after Rum Cask The Beast II. The kinship is clearly smelled and tasted, pineapple, glue, and marzipan characterize both rums. But the Nobilis seems more intense, astringent, and noticeably sweeter on the palate. Overall, I like it a bit better than the TRC.

Lots of fruit ester in the profile, appealing for its relatively young age, albeit on the very bitter side. I stand by my assessment that the continentally aged Hampdens simply need more time in the barrel to develop the necessary expressiveness.

Another 2013 Hampden. The bottling from Nobilis is, for me, one of the best of the vintage. Excellent balance and very well integrated alcohol. Also very fruity, esters and wood. This one is fun.

I think this one was sitting in the glass for a good 30 minutes before i started tasting it. On the nose: Esters, glue, nail polish and bananas. Marzipan note gives much needed sweetness and roundness to the profile. In the background there is some light mango notes and maybe light citrus notes. The high abv is integrated nicely. Taste:Esters, pineapples and marzipan pan notes. Light citrus notes. Nice acidic notes that balances with the marzipan sweetness. The high abv is present giving the rum a good body. Finish: Fermented, dry, esters, light woody notes, light olive notes. Light pineapple notes. Medium finish. With a little bit of depth and richness i would have scored this rum a bit higher.

Incredibly great nose – high ester fans will be pleased. I really like the profile: marzipan, solvents, banana incredibly fruity and damn much power behind it. But not unbalanced. Despite the high alcohol content, quite harmonious. Hats off – a very awesome . Never seen this outstanding continental form before.

A fun and joy to taste this rum. Just makes you happy. On the nose simply so delicious and you can spend a lot of time here. It's not super complex, but what it does, it does damn well. On the palate full-bodied and nicely drinkable with a nice barrel influence. Absolutely delicious and maybe indeed the spearhead of the <>H bottlings. I'm diligently collecting samples for the big comparison. But this bottling is premium anyway. Top.

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can sense wild esters that soak your whole body with the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

A very good 2013 <>H by Nobilis. It is quite astringent but the fruits that this rum give you, compensate for it. I understand why some people call it elegant, but I think balanced is a better word since a Hampden can hardly be called elegant. It does not need to be either. We love Hampden for what it is.

01-02-2025 Nobilis Warehouse Tasting #2 - Rum 8 Young Hampden at its best. Great classic high eater Hampden nose and taste. Long aftertaste and sweet spot regarding the mark. Young DOK can be a bit to much, but this is perfect.

The nose I can interpret either as buttery pineapple, banana and tropical fruit or as olive-ham-pickle-white bread. Interesting :) On the palate, despite 68%, relatively soft and fruity, maybe overripe orange. On the finish, honeydew melon, quite long and without the "hot oil" note I often have with Hampdens. Also generally without rancid notes. Of course, nothing for casual drinking, but for a high-ester with almost 70 abv surprisingly accessible and tasty #43:260716
