Bielle Selected by Kirsch Whisky 2001
Sour cherry, anise and warm honey up front, then a wave of cassis and caramelized sweetness over well-judged oak. This 14-year Bielle from Marie Galante, bottled at 55.7%, wears its age in the wood and spice but stays fruity and floral. Several tasters call it one of the best Bielles they've had, and the high ABV sits remarkably well integrated.
- Integrated high ABV
- Cherry and cassis
- Complex, well balanced

How does Bielle Selected by Kirsch Whisky 2001 taste?
Aggregated from 22 community reviews.
Intense, cherry-and-spice cask-strength agricole Loved by agricole fans for its balance of cherry, wood and spice, with the strength tucked neatly in. Complex and intense — one reviewer wished a touch more of that nose-promised fruit reached the palate.

Expressive Bielle, whose longer maturation is clearly noticeable compared to the younger bottlings. Concise wood and spicy notes, plus somewhat heavy stone fruit and citrus aromas. A little more of the heavy fruitiness that the nose still promises could have made it to the palate to provide a more active counterpart to the barrel influence - but even so, it remains a great rum.

A very complex, intense Agricole! I am thrilled, Agricole in cask strength simply fits Tasted again today: An almost unbelievably good Agricole, full of aromas from the nose to the finish, very complex. In my opinion, the wood note is perfectly integrated!

This is a retaste for me and I stick to my initial score. It matches the other 2001 released and it's very close to the Danish release by Juuls. Fruity and floral at the same time. Very well balanced Agricole notes and the ABV is very well integrated. A rare bottle and if you get the chance and you love Agricole you should give this one a go.

Probably one of the best bielles of all time. Incredibly elegant, intense aromas of nougat, mint, eucalyptus tea and honey and not too much wood. Insane! For me, probably one of the best Bielles I have ever tasted.

Maybe this one is the ultimative cask from the 2001 LMDW Vintages. Unfortunately I bought just one bottle at the time...

Review by Rhum Mirror 🇧🇪
