Infinity Spirits New Yarmouth The Royal Cane Cask Company 1994
This members split on which one they, though most tasters land it high the that spot among the NY949497y 94— the debate is who came out top and better. Expect coconut, vanilla, caramel and dried fruit with the classic Jamaican varnish note glglue" note woven through an oily body. Several call it "spanish"-leaning and dangerously drinkable for 60% ABV. A few find it a touch too soft, wishing for more edges.

This is a pretty good rum but I'd say the price is a bit high. You can get the same quality from New Yarmouth cheaper out there. Leave it to rest for a while for the flavours to really develop. The nose is fruity with spices, nuts and wood as well as a hint of varnish. The palate is complex, well balanced and oily with fruits, wood, nuts, caramel and vanilla. The finish is medium to long with fruits, wood and caramel.

I can well understand why this rum won the big NY94 comparison of the Franconian Tasting Gang. You can almost taste the tropics. The rum is creamy and full-bodied and has everything that makes it a great rum. I especially like the epic finish. Many thanks to zabo for the sample!

Most people know the New Yarmouth 1994 profile. 😎😎😎 This one is a little more rounded. The focus is more on gingerbread and macaroons than dried fruit and coconut. Very furry in the mouth and the alcohol burns out the throat. The finish is a little short. For me, this vintage is solidly in the second quartile, which still makes it a very good rum.

So far the winner of the batch. Nose is particularly nice in this bottling.
Review by BTHHo 🥃
The taste presents itself with a rich mouthfeel, with distinct notes of dark caramel, iodine, pineapple and plum jam, all complemented by oak herb bitterness. The finish is long and complex with layers of caramelized sweet notes, subtle fruitiness and earthy spice.
Review by Oliver
Relatively much varnish on the nose. On the palate again classic NY94 profile.
Review by Thunderbird
A very good New Yarmouth that is very round and soft. You could also say elegant. But personally for me already too pleasing. Especially on the palate I would have wished for a bit more edges. But that's complaining at a high level. It remains a first-class NY.
Review by Leo Krüper
A recognizable profile of its own with an interesting character compared to the other NY94s. For me, however, no better or worse than the other comparative rums.
Review by Serge
Beautifully balanced 94 New Yarmouth that skillfully plays to the strengths of this batch. A great balance of coconut, vanilla, caramel, wood, spice, fruit and dried fruit. The texture is also beautiful. Hard to believe ... much (much) better than the bottler's other releases and in the absolute top tier of NY94. Thanks to Zabo for the dram 👌
Review by mto75
The Royal Cane ranks among the great 94ers from NY. Polish, coconut, vanilla, cake on the nose. Caramel, vanilla, roasted aromas, cappuccino on the palate. Despite all the complexity and intensity, surprisingly easy to drink... a bit like a boosted Spaniard 😉
Review by Basti
At first a bit sharp on the nose, which fades over time. Then dried fruits and coconut, plus a hint of glue, spices and wood in the center. I like it more with more time in the glass. Overall rather reserved. On the palate then a slightly perfumed/floral start, then the classic NY1994 profile.

Today a tasting with seven bottlings of the 1994 New Yarmouth: Thompson Brothers, Royal Cane, Kill Devil, Rum Sponge, Ron Artesanal, FRC Bottles Shop and Maolt, Grain & Cane. The Royal Cane stands out with nice notes of dried fruits and lands today in the top group.
Review by TheRhumhoe
New Yarmouth confirms its special status in Jamaican rum with this exquisite cuvée. The nose is elegant, very fine on a noble and gourmand woodiness, varnished and sprinkled with all kinds of spices and packed with opulent pastry notes of caramel, burnt sugar, toffee and viennoiseries. You also find roasted notes, glue and a warm fruitiness on banana, coconut, raisins and nuts. A complex and generously wishful profile. The attack on the palate is round and well balanced between fruity and spicy aromas. The fruits come first with tropical fruits (banana, coconut), raisins and orange, while the spices accompany the roasted oak with chili, pepper and vanilla. Some notes of cocoa, nuts and caramel accentuate the gourmandise felt on the palate. There is a very pleasant oily side in the mouth. The alcohol is superbly well integrated. The finish is not the most intense but extends in length. It is dry, slightly bitter on cocoa, roasted wood and spices. You discern a note of apple, exotic yellow fruits, banana and coconut as well. A very nice bottling from a rather discreet bottler who wants to be meticulous on this most pleasant cuvée.

Brutally drinkable 94er NY. Doesn’t clash, typical profile for the vintage which still comes across as 'Spanish' and untypical for Jamaica. Lots of cinnamon cookies, coconut and caramel, milk chocolate, baked apple and raisins with almonds and marzipan. Dangerously delicious!
Review by Timo Groeger
And to finish, the best one, a cool New Yarmouth. Very tasty, vanilla, wood and coconut on the nose here. On the palate then lots of vanilla, caramel and nuts, but all balanced, really a great rum.
Review by Fred Tillac
👃 = We are well under the Tropics with coconut, vanilla, yellow fruits, caramel, a bit of dried fruits and honey.. 👄 = It's rather round and I find the alcohol discreet. The wood reveals itself better than on the nose with chocolate, mild spices and a slight varnish. The finish is fine, of decent length with a note of tobacco. This old rum has something to please many enthusiasts even if I find it a bit too soft 👍

Compared to the RA, it seems almost a bit diluted, but flavorful at a high level!
Review by Jakob
Very tasty, typical 94er NY profile. Sweet coconut notes with vanilla sugar, oak wood, fresh fruit notes... elegant, smooth, classic for the vintage. Great NY representative that rightly took a place among the top rums of 2022.

Wow! 🤩Second tasting and this is some really really good rum.
Review by Nicofr
A very smooth, very round rum that must be left to rest for a while before revealing all its flavors. Quite complex, the flavors blend and reveal themselves with difficulty, you can clearly feel the woodiness, vanilla under a typically Jamaican glue/varnish touch. The alcohol is very well integrated, this is my first NY94 and I am quite surprised, given the hype I expected something more punchy. In the end, I think it's not really my thing.
Review by Pavel Spacek
Beautifully sweet, creamy, like caramel. A great choice for rum lovers who want to move from sweet syrups to pure distillate. New Yarmouth 1994 rarely disappoints. This is a great choice you'll always gladly return to.

Nice NY, even if I don't fully agree with the average rating. Nice rust+nuts+coconut on the nose. And these notes are also present in the taste. Alcohol is very well integrated. Good stuff

Tasted at the Whisky & Rum aan Zee festival IJmuiden 2023. Very well aged old Jamaican rum.
Review by Mentalo
The 1994 New Yarmouth from The Infinity Spirits doesn't quite reach Rum Artesanal, but again a great 1994. Roasted notes, spices, fruits, wood, nutty, creamy and vanilla. Nicely balanced.

TLTA - 9.2 One of the best New Yarmouth’s I have tasted. The 1994’s are fantastic. I could drink this all day 😉 22-03-2025 - Rate 9.3 Had it Yesterday and it was very good as usual. But today we had tasted the 5 CDI New Yarmouth’s bottled for Denmark. After the 5 young 12 and 13 year old rums, the Royal Cane just tasted better then usual 😉 25-10-2025 - Rate 9.3
Review by Michal S
Top-notch full rum rich in aroma and taste. Vanilla, nuts, and dried fruit stand out in the rum; caramel and coconut add to the taste. Delicious, unfortunately the price is somewhat higher. In direct comparison with the 26-year-old Valinch & Mallet from the same year, I rate both 9.2, with V&M having a better nose and Royal Cane a better taste.
Review by Hans-Peter Jank
A very good 1994 Yarmouth, in my opinion a bit overpriced. Very easy to drink. Really quite light for its high alcohol content. This rum is oily and smells like lacquer. Jamaica at its best.
Review by Ondra RumRunner
New Yarmouth Infinity Spirits The Royal Blend is a sophisticated Jamaican rum offering a balanced mix of fruity, woody, and caramel notes. Its complexity and depth appeal to even the most discerning tasters. The nose captivates with notes of raisins, yellow fruits, vanilla, and plums, complemented by caramel and a subtle hint of varnish. The palate is rich, featuring dried fruits, coconut, and nutty elements, enriched with woody and oily nuances. The finish is elegant, caramelized, and warming.
Review by DutchRumPirate
What a delicious NY1994. Wonderfully full of flavor. So much happening on the palate, full and complex. The finish is also very long. This was the highlight of the evening for me. I immediately went looking for a bottle afterward. I simply had to have this one.

Vintage 1994. With 8.9 out of 10, it belongs to the better ones that I have had in my glass.
Review by Rumeumel
Very pleasant. Well integrated alcohol at 60 ABV. Nice nose, long-lasting on the palate with gentle notes of light wood, coconut and vanilla. Smooth drop without trying to please. Clear recommendation if you like low-ester Jamaicans.
