The taste presents itself with a rich mouthfeel, with distinct notes of dark caramel, iodine, pineapple and plum jam, all complemented by oak herb bitterness. The finish is long and complex with layers of caramelized sweet notes, subtle fruitiness and earthy spice.

22-03-2025 - Rate 9.3 Had it Yesterday and it was very good as usual. But today we had tasted the 5 CDI New Yarmouth’s bottled for Denmark. After the 5 young 12 and 13 year old rums, the Royal Cane just tasted better then usual 😉 21-03-2025 - Rate 9.2 TLTA - 9.2 One of the best New Yarmouth’s I have tasted. The 1994’s are fantastic. I could drink this all day 😉

Špičkový plný rum bohatý ve vůni i v chuti. V rumu vynikají vanilka, oříšky a sušené ovoce, v chuti se přidává karamel a kokos. Dobrota, bohužel cena už je poněkud vyšší. V přímém porovnání s 26letým Valinch & Mallet ze stejného roku hodnotím oba známkou 9.2, přičemž V&M má lepší vůni a Royal Cane lepší chuť.

I can well understand why this rum won the big NY94 comparison of the Franconian Tasting Gang. You can almost taste the tropics. The rum is creamy and full-bodied and has everything that makes it a great rum. I especially like the epic finish. Many thanks to zabo for the sample!

This is a pretty good rum but I'd say the price is a bit high. You can get the same quality from New Yarmouth cheaper out there. Leave it to rest for a while for the flavours to really develop. The nose is fruity with spices, nuts and wood as well as a hint of varnish. The palate is complex, well balanced and oily with fruits, wood, nuts, caramel and vanilla. The finish is medium to long with fruits, wood and caramel.

Beautifully balanced 94 New Yarmouth that skillfully plays to the strengths of this batch. A great balance of coconut, vanilla, caramel, wood, spice, fruit and dried fruit. The texture is also beautiful. Hard to believe ... much (much) better than the bottler's other releases and in the absolute top tier of NY94. Thanks to Zabo for the dram 👌

An der Nase anfangs etwas stechend, was mit der Zeit jedoch verfliegt. Dann getr. Früchte und Kokosnuss, dazu ein Hauch Klebstoff, Gewürze und Holz im Mittelpunkt. Mir mehr Zeit im Glas gefällt er mir zunehmend besser. Insgesamt aber eher etwas zurückhaltend. Am Gaumen dann ein leicht parfumierter/floraler Einstieg, danach das klassische NY1994 Profil.

der Royal Cane reiht sich ein bei den großartigen 94er NYs. Politur, Kokosnuss, Vanille, Kuchen an der Nase. Karamell, Vanille, Röstsaromem, Cappuccino am Gaumen. Bei all der Komplexität und Intensität auch erstaunlich süffig…ein bisschen wie ein geboosteter Spanier 😉

Brutal süffiger 94er NY. Eckt nicht an, typisches Profil für den Jahrgang was nach wie vor für Jamaika untypisch "spanisch" daherkommt. Viel Zimtgebäck, Kokos und Karamell, Milchschokolade, Bratapfel und Rosinen mit Mandeln und Marzipan. Gefährlich lecker!

Sehr lecker, typisches 94er NY Profil. Süsse Kokosnoten mit Vanillezucker, Eichenholz, frische Fruchtnoten…elegant, süffig, klassisch für das Vintage. Toller NY-Vertreter, der zurecht einen Platz unter den Top-Rums des Jahres 2022 eingenommen hat.

A very good New Yarmouth that is very round and soft. You could also say elegant. Personally, however, it's too pleasant for me. I would have liked a little more edge, especially on the palate. But that's complaining on a high level. It remains a first-class NY.

New Yarmouth confirme son statut à part dans le rhum jamaïcain avec cette cuvée exquise. Le nez est élégant, d’une grande finesse sur un boisé noble et gourmand, vernis et saupoudré d’épices en tout genre et bourré de notes pâtissières opulentes sur le caramel, le sucre brûlé, le toffee et les viennoiseries. On retrouve aussi des notes grillées, de la colle et un fruité chaleureux sur la banane, la noix de coco, le raisin sec et les noix. Un profil complexe et généreux à souhait. L’attaque en bouche est ronde et bien équilibrée entre les arômes fruités et épicés. Les fruits viennent en premier avec les fruits tropicaux (banane, coco), le raisin sec et l’orange, tandis que les épices accompagne le chêne rôti avec le piment, le poivre et la vanille. Quelques notes de cacao, de noix et de caramel accentuent la gourmandise ressentie au palais. Il y a un côté huileux très agréable en bouche. L’alcool est superbement bien intégré. La finale n’est pas des plus intenses mais s’étend sur la longueur. Elle est sèche, légèrement amère sur le cacao, le bois rôti et les épices. On discerne une note de pomme, de fruits jaunes exotiques, de banane et de coco également. Une très belle mise en bouteille d’un embouteilleur plutôt discret mais qui se veut minutieux sur cette cuvée des plus plaisantes.
