This is archaic haute couture. Lots of characteristics of a very old Martinique rum, with the raw barrel spirit on top. A nose mixing milk chocolate, vanilla and dried fruits, almost prune-like. It’s delicious. Then come notes of medicinal-type menthol, followed by coppery notes revealing a certain acidity, not unpleasant. On the palate, noble wood, caramel sugar, island spices, a sweet-salty side. I perceive a wild strawberry compote, grandmother style. A medium to long finish on cocoa, old cigar tobacco and precious, exotic wood. An ancestral blend yet relatively young by the dates. The juice is very well constructed and deserves to oxidize after a few tastings. There are some fragrances that speak to me but come from the Tahitian aging of which I do not know all the subtleties. Thanks Tamure Rhum, a journey is a must... PS: 1/4 bottle left. Still as wonderful this agricultural blend from the other side of the world. Handles oxidation well. A pleasure to (re)discover... Soon the end 😥

Très étonné de ne pas voir la marque Tamure référencée dans RumX ! Distillerie française de Polynésie 🇵🇫, elle se développe à vitesse grande V. Ceci est la cuvée anniversaire des 30 ans de la distillerie avec un assemblage de 3 cuvées 2017 - 2015 et 2010 et un magnifique packaging. Au nez c’est très gourmand, du caramel et du chocolat avec une pointe de vanille. La bouche elle est absolument exceptionnelle ! Quelle intégration de l’alcool (bien meilleure que la cuvée Hélène alors que l’on a 5ABV de plus. Très belle cuvée exclusive (297btls), à 170€ en france. Content d’avoir pu l’acquérir, c’est une merveille !! 💎

On the nose, it is rich and intense with hints of milk chocolate, red fruits, leather, cream, warm honey/caramel, roasted hazelnuts, and something floral, wow truly complex and interesting! On the palate, it's woody and spicy (sweet spices, cloves and some peppery notes) within a salty and at the same time honeyed and smooth (salted caramel), which becomes lively in the finish, accompanied by some subtle hints of tobacco and leather. The ABV is perfectly integrated, and in the empty glass intense aged aromas (even after hours from half a meter away). After trying and loving the whites from this distillery, I became interested in the aged versions, and I must say it has far exceeded my expectations 👏. Many thanks to Jaune for the opportunity!"
