#7089 27.07.2026 Running a few samples after a relaxing day at work and celebrating my walk home from work was very fast with a low average heart rate. Listening to some nice trance by Lyktum, Alurian, Coral, Djantrix and Kundalini on Spotify. Pretty gooe bottling with a very nice price tag at release in my mind. Medium intense profile with overripe fruits, spice, sugarcane, spice, light roasted wood and a dry palate.

Outside we have about 40 degrees, so the fruity short-aged Clairins with low abv come just right. Rocher: funky fruity, smoky, similar to incense sticks. A bit grassy. 80 points. Vaval: milder and sweeter, with a bit of menthol. Short, somewhat sharp finish. 76 points. Casimir: mild fruity, sweetish, short finish. 75 points.

Comparative series of Ansyan Clairins. The same as the Casimir WHKCA1, only the cask changes. And to say that this is the only difference is impressive: the aromas are very different and even the overall impression of the two rums is different. The nose is banana, clove. Lots of banana in the mouth with a balanced alcohol and a quite long and sweet finish. Thanks Dr. Django for the sample.

Cross tasting of aged Clairins: Le Rocher 27 months Ex-Whisky (RX4411) Casimir 27 months Ex-Whisky (RX12073) Casimir 27 months Ex-Whisky (RX12072) Clearly milder nose than Le Rocher. Much fruitier and less woody. Unlike Le Rocher, no smoke at all, instead a bit like freshly mowed grass. Compared to Casimir 12073, clearly more vanilla. Taste-wise clearly woodier than the comparison Casimir. Feels a bit more intense. Instead of banana here coconut and the alcohol is better integrated. Conclusion: the messed-up Le Rocher is not something you can or want to drink often, but it's really the most exciting. I wouldn't finish a bottle of it alone. But now and then to really beat up the palate, really interesting. Behind that, this Casimir. Soon to follow: Vaval 22 months, Sajous 22 months, Sajous 5Y Ex-Caroni.
