The nose is very promising. I have a lot of vanilla and floral-sweet notes. The 62% is hardly noticeable on the nose. Behind it hide spices and light fruits. On the palate you immediately notice tropical citrus fruits, less sweetness and a lot of dark chocolate-wood notes. Diluting it with water to about 50-55% does it a lot of good, because at first the alcohol is quite noticeable on the palate. With water, a nice sweetness also comes out, drifting slightly into a vanilla honey before the wood then reveals its full range of spices and roasted aromas up to coffee notes. A nice, honest Foursquare that makes you want more. I'm curious how it develops over time!

Read full review ›It offers something slightly different to the Foursquare 2004. I very slightly prefer the 2004 (another factor is price you could get two 2004 for the price of this). Still you are paying for a rarity with this. There is only one cask the same as this and only 239...
