Lots of oak, woody spices, dark chocolate, pears and vanilla cream - Fantastic longevity and mouthfeel - what's not to like 😎

The look at the label arouses excitement, because from the frame data very similar to the Shibbo. On the nose comes at the beginning a delicious scent of cream candy, only after a while in the glass come more FS typical notes like the coconut. On the palate, dark chocolate, but also a hefty helping of roasted flavors (roasted nuts) and decent wood barrel. The finish is again quite soft. Conclusion: Not as round as the Shibbo, but finally again a FS with character and rough edges!

Nice broad FS on the nose, the 16 years come into their own. It continues on the palate. However, without any spectacular outliers. Typical FS wood sweetness, vanilla tones, consistent profile. Relatively short finish.

This is a tasting set from 2022 where we had a lot of fun around the table. Another really nice release from Valinch & Mallet and the price tag matches what you get. Fruity with a nice smoky note in the profile with good ABV integration. There is a light nutty note on the profile. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is really nice with some added chocolate and light coffee.

A rather well aged and complex rum. In the nose I found subtle hints of wood and chocolate. In the notes I found a fruity taste, which went further into caramel and fruit. I also got hints of smoke near the finish

Ve vůni lehce nakouřené, ale velmi dřevitě karemelové plnění. Tohle plnění od valinch & mallet je poměrně typický foursquare profil, který přes sladké tóny přejde do typického koření barbadosu. Hezky integrovaný alkohol a přijemný, středně dlouhý závěr.

Typical FS profile, but a hit rough and less integrated than the Shibboleth in direct comparison. A bit disappointed, feel like in general there a not many good IB Foursquare releases and you better stick to the OB bottles

A surprisingly fruity Foursquare on the nose...on the palate, however, I find it rather normal and not particularly intense or complex...the finish is classic! A good, but not exceptional Foursquare
Review by Jakob
In the nose still comparatively fruity for a Foursquare. Taste, however, on the rather mature side - a lot of wood, dark spices and smoky notes. Unfortunately, the nose tells me much more than the mouth - otherwise my rating would have been much higher. So the impression remains that the rum has already been slightly overlaid. Overall, still a complex aromatic spectrum, which certainly exudes charm, but for me already comes along overall a bit too harsh for a higher score. Who stands on the other hand on a little more spice and bitterness should find the right Foursquare for themselves.

Good FS, which is more on the woody-bitter side.

PLV does not fit here for me ... even if the bottle is beautiful, the contents are rather average.
Review by Righrum
More on the fruit and very little on the usual foursquare coconut and vanilla notes. Enjoyable but there's something missing here
