A pretty good Saint James. The typical notes are there and I really like the light coffee note in the profile. ABV is pretty well integrated but could have been better. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass reveals even more notes like nutts and light ginger.

Very tasty Saint James that doesn't need more ABV. Powerful on the nose with cherry and honey. Caramel, licorice, and wood in the taste. A bit of bitterness (very pleasant) in the finish.

Great rum, the drinking strength suits it very well. Very round and at the same time as strong as varied in taste. Also holds up excellently in direct comparison with St. James bottlings with higher alcohol content.

By now I am a fan of the Saint James Agricoles. And this one fits in effortlessly. The nose is sweet/sour fruity with some cask and leather. On the palate a pleasantly leathery, woody and spicy play of aromas. The 45% suits it extraordinarily well and it doesn't have to hide against its stronger brothers! Great bottling

Very tasty, easy to drink rum, which still offers complex aromas. I would have liked a bit more power, especially the finish feels a bit thin. Maybe because of the magnum bottle.. 😅

On revisiting this bottle, while I still rate this rum highly, there is a slight bitter astringency at the back of the palate that I haven’t figured out quite yet in the finish.

A bit closed on the nose, probably too diluted, very woody, elegant varnish. Slight astringency on the finish that supports everything. However, it’s very aromatic for 45%. A bit too little fruit to get a good rating.
