Made for people already deep into Hampden's high-ester world: this HLCF hits with glue and ester on the nose, then pineapple, banana and mango on the palate, with olive and a little licorice bitterness. Several tasters call it one of the better recent HLCF bottlings — rounder, with the alcohol well tucked in for a 5-year-old at 60%. Not one to ease into.

Very tasty ester fruit bomb. The alcohol is very well integrated for the young age. The high ester content is much more noticeable here than in the older HLCF that have been released recently.

Also a very nice release. Fruity with some esters and nice wood and spices. I like the smoky touch in the finish and the empty glass reveals nice chocolate notes.

This is so far for me the best Hampden with the Mark HLCF!He comes round, complex and absolutely coherent therefore! The fruit, spice and wood are perfectly balanced, nothing dominates, but alternates harmoniously!Top!

This Hampden reminds me much more of a Hampden, like the ones from the 8 Marks Collection. On the nose mostly esters, on the palate a certain fruitiness of pineapple and banana is added. Really tasty.

An intense Hampden with lots of pineapple, banana and ester funk, complemented by olive, licorice and a slight smoky note. The 60% ABV is surprisingly well integrated. Despite its young age, it feels round and complex, with a strong, spicy finish.

On the nose, citrus, buttery notes, esters, glue, some licorice, tropical fruits and vanilla and metallic/medicinal notes. Overall, a little too much on the bitter, licorice side for my taste.

Stands out extremely positively in a direct comparison of the two2016 Hampdens, which were released under the aegis of Velier. Clearly more harmonious and with far better integration of the alcohol.
