Aroma visualization from community tastings
Rhum Santa Lucilia 1970
"A beautiful nose, shame about the palate" sums up the consensus here. It opens fruity and inviting — cherry, grilled pineapple, dried herbs, vanilla and a clear cognac note that sets it apart from most agricoles. Then the mouth arrives thin and diluted, the pretty aromas fade, and a dry, dusty, slightly bitter oak closes it out short. A 1970 Martinique curiosity that promises more than it pours.

Aggregated from 15 community reviews.
Gorgeous nose, thin diluted palate The verdict is consistent: an impressive nose let down by a watery, simple palate and an odd bitter finish. A collector's bottle more than a drinking one.

A lovely fruity nose with vegetal, cherry, roasted pineapple, dried herbs and vanilla. The palate is disappointing, diluted, simple, even simplistic, warm and the beautiful aromas of the nose have disappeared. The finish is short, a little dusty, bitter and bizarre at the very end, with a dry oakiness. A nice nose here, fruitier than the agricultural ones in general, but the palate is thin and the finish not very pleasant.
