On the nose you get a scent like fruit alcohol, but also agricultural notes and a dark side. Yellow fruits. A nice entry on the palate where you find the flavors of the nose again. Spices with pepper, clove, yellow fruits and nice acidity. The finish is long, balanced and most of the aromas remain until the end. The most beautiful Martinique rum from the 70s in this tasting.

7,6:On the nose, the first impression we get is a spicy wood, roasted with chocolate, confectionery and caramel, some citrus fruits and hay. On aeration, sugarcane is herbaceous and floral, the wood nutty, vanilla grows stronger, some soap note pops up. 8:On the palate, the attack is fresh with sugarcane juice, flowery and herbaceous, fruity with yellow and citrus fruits, as the wood is spicy, slightly roasted with caramel, confectionery and marzipan.Some oxidation brings metallic patina, grassy tones and spices like clove. 7,7:The finish is medium long, dry and tannic, but quite thin, with spicy wood, citrus and grassy, herbaceous cane... I find this Martinique Pur from 1970 somewhat better than the previous one. The nose here is predominantly woody, but also quite spicy. On the palate, the wood dominates again, but there is also a pleasant sweetness in the form of caramel and vanilla in addition to the spiciness.
