Swell de Spirits Foursquare Wonders of the World #7 2006
Toasted coconut leads, thick and gourmand, backed by vanilla, caramel, chocolate and a woody frame that most tasters call the backbone here. A few notice a green chili or peppery kick that sharpens all that sweetness. The 60.6% barely shows — reviewers keep saying the alcohol is well integrated — though a splash of water opens up the tropical fruit. Classic Foursquare, dialed up.

How does Swell de Spirits Foursquare Wonders of the World #7 2006 taste?
Aggregated from 56 community reviews.
Rich toasted-coconut Foursquare at cask strength Widely loved as one of the better Foursquares people have tried — rich, balanced, and easy to sip at strength. The main quibble is a finish some find a touch short.

Wow. Definitely in my top 5 of the best foursquare rums I've had so far. Incredibly smooth, aromatic and complex. Unusual but cool is above all this light green chili note that perfectly complements the otherwise typical caramelized coconut, banana and chocolate note. I would definitely have bought it! It's easy to accidentally empty the bottle in one evening😂🤤 Oops: happened 😃

So good! A soft, woody Foursquare nose. On the palate, the wood is present just as it should be, enveloping delicious coconut and caramel, complemented by sweet tropical fruit. It's damn good. And it gets better with each new tasting. The bottle will benefit from ageing. Edit: the bottle gains so much with time! 7 months after opening, I find a very, very chiselled woodiness that really serves as a backdrop to the rest and enhances a crazy delicacy. Edit 2: 6 months since I last dipped my lips in this Foursquare. And it's still as good as ever. This woodiness is an incredible backbone. Present throughout the tasting, it allows all the other aromas to express themselves. Excellent.

A textbook Foursquare and really enjoyable in every aspect. Coconut, vanilla, caramelised sugar, pudding, oak, some toasted bread. This list is longer (see above). A real treat. The nose and palate are also really nice in balance, what you smell is what you taste and vice versa.

#4108 This is a very nice Foursquare. Well balanced and good ABV integration. Fruity yet fresh and warm on the palate with nice roasted wood notes and some chocolate. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some caramel and smoky notes. Price to quality is very good.

The Swell and the Barbados 2006 Flag Series have been added to the big crosstasting of the Velier bottlings. Unfortunately, it has not yet been possible to get a sample of the 70th. In general, it can be said that there were no major differences on the nose when flying blind. However, there are recognizable differences in the taste itself. In my opinion, however, three clearly stand out and bring up the rear.

In the nose, aromas of herbs, spices, wood, tropical fruits and some coconut? In the mouth mildly spicy, warmly complex with very well integrated alcohol. Dark chocolate and wood at the end. Long, spicy finish with great dark chocolate. Delicious, great Foursquare, super drinkable and still ok in terms of price from my point of view.
Review by TheRhumhoe
A very tasty Foursquare on the olfactory level, which starts with tropical fruits galore, very nice notes of caramel and toffee, chocolate, wood and spices and toasted notes. The palate attacks more with spices at first, but the fruits take over after aeration, especially the tropical fruits. Notes of toffee, caramel, chocolate, cappuccino and leather also appear on the palate. The finish, rather long, is darker than the nose and mouth suggest, with the fruit taking a back seat and letting the roasted coffee, chocolate and spice notes linger on the palate. A very pleasant Foursquare, greedy, elegant and balanced.

A very nice Foursquare, the coconut is very dominant but in a good way. In addition there’s wood, spices, caramel, chocolate and vanilla. I usually find the Foursquare profile interesting but never really feel that I need a bottle in my stash. I have to admit that I’m rather happy to have purchased a bottle of the Swell though.

Quite simply, a bomb. Hyper-aromatic, typical of FS, with subtle oak and a magnificently long finish. Superb. Sublime POS! 3 years later, bottle finished, a touch of nostalgia as I drink this last glass.

Velier FS (+ a fee spected other contenders) blind cross tasting: Honestly, the results here were very close. The Belier bottlings display a very high quality thourgout the range. Triptych and Pleni came out on top for me closely followed by Destino. I was somewhat surprised, that Sassafras and 2006 came out rather at the bottom, while I enjoyed both very much on their own. Raconteur also quite low in the ranking with Principia clearly at the bottom.

Foursquare meets burnt barrel - especially in direct comparison with other bottlings, the strong roasted note stands out quite clearly. Since this is clearly too dominant, I lack the balance and takes a little drinking fun. Who stands on roasted notes and bourbonesque rums will find here the appropriate representative.
Review by Skyfly
A real firework of aromas and one of the very best Foursquare I have tasted to date! Coconut, vanilla, wood, tropical fruits, toffee, caramel and chocolate are perfectly balanced from nose to finish.
Review by mto75
On the nose, plenty of coconut, but also caramel, vanilla, dried apricot and oak barrel. Similar on the palate, with caramel, lots of barrel, tannins. The ABV is well integrated.
Review by TheJona'Spirits

Best foursquare I've tasted so far. It reminds me of shibboleth with a better integrated alcohol and a greater complexity in the aromas. Maybe just a little disappointed by the finish that I found rather short
Review by Basti
Very good FS with well integrated alcohol.
Review by Schnubbii

Classic Foursquare profile immediately out of the gate. Lightly fruity with coconut chunks, dried apricot and oily orange peel. It smells very sweet of blonde toffee as well as harsher near burnt caramel. The nose is brutally spicy, opening with softer wafts of vanilla, quickly followed by aggressive mixed peppers and finally a hint of zingy juniper. The base note is malty with lots of chocolate and coffee creamer. On the palate very much alike. Opens up with coconut and prominent orange peel, making it quite oily. Minty, yet the freshness immediately succumbs under overwhelming caramel notes. An introduction of nutty praline. Active cask and intensely spicy into an easy finish constructed primarily of more coffee creamer. Finish is long and coating with confections, caramelised coconut, Italian coffee and vanilla icecream.
Review by Benoit Mahe
The nose offers a magnificent greediness. The mouth is creamy, unctuous. We drink cookie dough but with enough power to avoid that it is sickening. The finish is perhaps a little short even if the impression of creaminess persists. An excellent foursquare which shows that the greediness can be opulent but controlled, powerful and without addition.

... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum that will be appreciated especially by Romanians who are fed up with sugar and are looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Just pleasant and not aggressive flavours.

A very fine swell rum, as is often the case... Pleasant on the palate, with notes of caramel, vanilla, spice and gourmet wood.

Simply excellent! One of the best FS is hyper gourmand it embaune the mouth of caramel vanilla and bcp of coconut and a woody discreet but present... I highly recommend

Typical FS toasted coconut brioche nose. Interesting green pepper note. Lively first taste, with the presence of alcohol. Different texture and complexity from the usual Foursquare game. Will be reviewed at a later date. Not being a particular fan of foursquare, the nose caught my attention.

A great success once again for swell, which offers us an excellent foursquare 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩. The typical markers are present and we enjoy ourselves as usual 🤩😍 Even better after 35/40 mins of aeration, nice taste slap 🤩
Review by Michal S
Very nice Foursquare, perfect aroma (coconut, caramel, wood) and delicate taste with toasted wood and spices.
Review by Tactac76
Review by Jacques etdom
Beautiful foursquare. After a good aeration, the nose has the usual structure of coconut vanilla and solvents. The palate confirms the nose with a woody, caramelized side and a real impression of sweetness. It's round, smooth and easy to drink. Good length.

Please excuse the absolutio in the image. Some friends and I had a tasting of a few bottles. This SdeS collection shows why foursquare is indisputably an industry leader. Balanced, with tropical fruit meeting balanced barrel elegance. Perfect for slower sipping. Unfortunate that I cannot find another reasonably priced bottle. swell de spirits has been releasing some amazing rums recently. I am a fan.
