Edit: tried again, still couldn't really convince me to rate this one higher. I don't think it's too bad, but it doesn't knock me off my feet either. I find that the grape dominates in the mouth and displaces the other flavors a little.

Compared to Dillon XO, this rum raises the unusually 'pleasant' character for an agricole to the next level. Intense vanilla nose with chocolate, red fruits, nuts, and caramel. Complemented by some roasted aromas and tobacco. I know this from port finishes, hmm. On the palate not as dry as other agricoles and again nicely fruity, dark, and spicy. Left behind are roasted aromas, chocolate, dried fruits, sweet berries, and tobacco. Top value for money and mega tasty. Not the typical agricole!

Great nose, dried fruits, chocolate, lots of glue. Very complex, round. Wood aging is well integrated. The 62% can't hide, a few drops of water improve it. On the mouth again glue and chemistry, the alcohol naturally stings. Feels like a very mature distillate (associations e.g. to a Neisson 12 ans) and then comes again the youthful impetuosity of a strong Agricole blanc. Not quite top league, but a hammer for the price. Edit: The bottle has now been open for a few weeks, the rum becomes more balanced.

After resting this one it really opens up with a treasure chest of flavours. Fruit, spices and flower notes blend very well with the other flavors. Overall a very good rum. What I loved about this rum was how the flavours developed in the empty glass. The price to quality is very good.

9,2:On the nose, greatness from the first moment. Complex, smooth, elegant and balanced agricole with sweet sugar cane, red fruits, berries.Just a bit spicy and roasted with gunpowder, floral with geranium, then some tea is here, later turns to black tea. Aeration brings out more woody notes with resin, nuts, vanilla, there is licorice, some tobacco, leather, pear and some little medicinal touch. After a nice rest, new notes shine bright with pencil shavings, violet, fruits are now candied. Wonderful! 😋👌 9:On the palate, the attack is soft, waxy and fruity with citrus, banana, pear, sugar cane and some tea. Nicely balanced agricole.Becomes woody, spicy with nutmeg and a bit dry, the wood is toasted with vanilla. Becoming more dark and roasted with chocolate, licorice, nuts, a bit bitter with resin and herbal. The sugar cane is caramelized now with stewed yellow fruits, turns into the fruit compote. It is fresh, a bit minty with some coconut and freshly cut grass. Great🙂. 9:The finish is woody, fruity, dry with dried fruits, as the wood is toasted. Sugar cane is sweet and tasty. The end is very fresh and nutty with vanilla, vegetal notes. Almost perfect 😋👌.Great alcohol integration..

My first rum from Dillon so far. And aged agricole with an ABV >60%🤤😜😎🥺 I really like it! Great mix of agricole notes, tobacco and dark chocolate. The high ABV are well noted but also integrated well on the other side.

Second tasting: It remains that this is a very good aged Agricole at a fair price! Blind, from the nose I guessed Neisson but the palate didn't fit. Another chance to learn... Nose: wonderfully fresh and fruity but also barrel and walnut in the background. Very nicely balanced and not overtly Agricole. On the palate also very balanced and complex with only very nice barrel notes, only the alcohol is a bit too dominant and gives a peppery impression. In the aftertaste the enormous balance repeats itself. A very good rum and the only thing I can blame it for is that it is too pleasing for a high proof Agricole.

Nicely balanced. Here there is a bit of everything that makes an Agricole. The alcohol is well integrated. You notice it, but not negatively. Especially if you give the rum some time or add 1-2 drops of water. I like it.

This Dillon is quite impressive given the price... it's quite intense... the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated, but not for beginners in cask strength Agricoles. Spicy woody aromas dominate with a hint of red fruits. In the long finish, grassy aromas come through late. Top agricole.

What a beautiful piece! A really great Agricole, super round and tasty. On the nose fruity, floral with a slight spicy sweetness. Very balanced on the palate, pleasantly spicy, slightly floral with a medium-long finish. For the money (~100 Euro) simply unbeatable! Must Buy!

The Dillon needs some resting time until the alcohol on the nose subsides, then nutty aromas come out, dark chocolate, a nice green Agricole freshness and fruits (somewhere between currants and grapes). On the palate I have nutmeg, cocoa and a certain sweetness owed to the high ABV. The finish is complex and long-lasting. I quite like it!

At the beginning it does not seem so present, a bit watery, then in the middle part comes all the power. Alcohol very well integrated, complexity is somewhat lacking.

The first Dillon brand Brut de fût. The nose is intense and offers a balance between red fruits, sugar cane, tobacco, wood, spices and floral notes. The spices and fruits take precedence on the palate, followed by tobacco and wood. The rum is indulgent, smooth, intense and dry, the alcohol is well integrated. The finish, quite long, is adorned with a very pleasant hint of cocoa. A successful first attempt for the brand, moreover accessible at a ridiculous price.

You definitely smell the (for Agricole) quite long aging. Less floral than younger Agricoles, instead nuts, red fruits, vanilla and tobacco. Quite fruity, almost sweet smell. On the palate a similar profile: a pleasant, not too dominant sweetness of milk chocolate and red fruits. Plus a good portion of nutmeg, vanilla and cocoa. Here too you notice the long aging, which has had a very positive effect on the rum. Great intensity and for 62% quite well integrated alcohol. With a minimally better integrated alcohol this would be an absolutely perfect easy sipper. A bit more variety in the profile would be needed for a rating towards the 90s scale. All in all a top rum, I got it for 69€ without shipping, absolutely great value for money! For that +1 sympathy point.

On the nose is really close to a neisson, with nuts and hazelnuts, chocolate and spices. Drink side, alcool integration is not that good but it's the only flaw in a rum which recalls sugarcane and spices

Like the XO but with 60%. Tasted quickly in less-than-optimal conditions, but I wasn't won over. It remains a good product for those who absolutely want to exceed 50% on old vintages without breaking the bank.

For the second time in the glass today. And the feeling is really better. Intense, round nose. This is once again great cinema. On the palate powerful, fruity, lots of red fruit. Already quite tasty, but I would much rather drink the after a few more years in the barrel 😊

Appealing Agricole that plays out the typical profile in almost ideal form: nougat meets dried fruits, dark spices and roasted barrel aromas. The blend is successful but lacks a bit of an independent profile beyond the pleasantness. Still a wonderful entry into the Agricole world with undeniable aromatic overlap with the molasses rum world.

Needs some time in the glass as the alcohol is not particularly well integrated. After waiting, you get a nice aged Agricole. Pleasant woody note, spicy, vegetal. In the finish, dry grassy notes come through. Price-performance top.

A wonderful Agricole with flavors of liquid (earth) berries, grapes, a bit of tobacco and nice wood barrel spice. The alcohol is sensationally integrated, the 62% are by no means too sharp and intense, but perfectly suit the aroma profile. A true price/performance winner for what is offered.

Initially quite restrained, but after some time a great aroma develops with wood, vanilla, nuts, chocolate. On the palate somewhat sharp and intense, but still well balanced. A few drops of water work wonders here. Great BdF Dillon!

Challenging and difficult to classify. Intense, undefinable red/yellow fruit on the nose. Spicy-salty on the taste. Warm and balanced with character. Not too complex, but hard to grasp. It’s fun to get your bearings. But you have to take your time. It needs a second try, I think. - Review: not so balanced. Not an easy sipper.

On the nose: Woody, vanilla, sugarcane and agricole notes are on the back. Its got a red fruit note, almost like a light winecask note. Very round and elegant. Abv is integrated perfectly. Taste: Warm and spicy peppery at first. Woody notes and vanilla notes come in. Hints of agricole and floral notes pop up here and there. Little bit of cocoa notes. Pleasantly dry and nicely balanced. Finish: Woody, tobacco and vegetal notes come in first. Roasted. Cocoa notes. Pleasantly warm and dry. Quite rich finish actually. I really enjoyed sipping this rum and i think this is my very first dram from Dillon distillery. Very good stuff from nosing to finish

Elegant nose on the jam of red fruits. The alcohol is well integrated. Very greedy, we have the impression to drink a "black forest" (chocolate cake and cherries in brandy) with a very woody side.Final in the continuity which is going to turn on coffee.Good bottle at an excellent price.

Needs some air to breathe, but is then quite quickly tame. Chocolate and dried fruit on the nose, followed by a rich portion of glue. The taste is pure bombast. After a short rest, there's lots of intense flavors with very well integrated alcohol. Warm but not pungent. Overall quite spicy, only slightly sweet and especially strong in dark chocolate. Relatively edgy of course as an Agricole, but that works splendidly here. Towards the end slightly salty and fresh with sugar cane.

Nose: Very woody. Also fruit notes and vanilla. There are also agricole notes. Definitely needs quite some time in the glass to open up. Taste: Like the nose (lots of wood, fruit and vanilla). Also spicy and clearly agricole notes at the back. You notice the 62% but I don't find it disturbing. Finish: Long Needs time. Very tasty.

A lively nose that develops a lot. A rum a bit acidic at times on the palate with a strong concentration of aromas, woody at the forefront but not only that, fruits, candies, spices. A very nice Martinican that lives up to all its promises and has little to envy from the other BDFs of the island. Bring us some more whenever you want 😊

Great Agricole. It needs time to open up, then the nose fills with all kinds of berry fruits and great spice. The taste packs a punch, the 62% are well present, it warms nicely. The spicy, woody aromas take over, bitter chocolate is constantly present here. A few drops of water might not hurt, but I haven't tried. It lingers quite long. I think I need a bottle.;-) 👍🏻

Quite s trong start. But there is a not perfect integration. And gets really one sided late in the tasting. It is a really good single cask but i dont get the hype around this bottling. But maybe it is just not my cup of tea.
