The surprise here is how little it drinks like a typical high-ester Jamaican — several tasters couldn't believe it wasn't a flavored rum, with huge coconut, nut, and butter on the nose over caramel and vanilla. On the palate it turns woodier and slightly bitter, with chocolate and dried fruit. A softer, fruit-forward New Yarmouth 1994 that most enjoy but a few find lacks the depth of its siblings.

1. Tasty, most classic, average, which for a 94NY gives 87 points. A bit sharp 2. Very smooth start, a bit woody, creamy and with lots of coconut. Finish rather short. Very smooth compared to the others. 82 3. Very cool start, immediately astringent, very funky in comparison. I like it a lot! 90 4. Could be a sherry finish. So many dark berries, sweet and full-bodied! Awesome stuff! 89 5. A mix of everything mentioned so far. Typical NY aromas, a bit astringent, a bit funky, a bit smooth but also a bit sharp at the end. 87 6. Typical NY, which has a bit more citrus fruits in the basket at the end than the others. Typical representative of the 94 New Yarmouth range: fruity notes, esters etc. Alcohol could be integrated a little better. Alcohol could be a little better integrated. The rum has a very pronounced sweet note of vanilla and coconut. Those who like this will love the combination with esters. Unfortunately, I personally don't like the sweet mixture at all.

Great nose, relatively pungent & acidic taste despite the lower alcohol content... There are much better 94 NY Vintages overall... Its big brother from malt, grain & cane is clearly better in direct comparison.

//update: Still very good, more on the fruity side with only a bit wood & spices. Less complex compared to other NYs. Nice NY with typical profile but lacking some depth/power. Still solid distillate, can’t go wrong with a 1994.

Another 94 New Yarmouth, but not quite as complex and with less depth than the previous ones. Certainly a very good rum, but in comparison to the others it falls slightly short. It is not quite as smooth on the finish

"Loser" of the NY94 crosstasting. But can there really be a loser? Great rum at a high level. Only a little alcoholic at the back, with a slightly pungent note despite the comparatively low %%.

One of my first 94 NY. Evaluated again today in peace. Of course I was flashed at the time, and I still like it very much today. Of course, 24 years of tropical maturation are a statement and you can tell. Nevertheless, it lacks a little of the complexity of other representatives. The alcohol is not perfectly integrated. Nevertheless, I stand by my assessment from back then. Simply fun in the glass.

The nose is really inviting and delicious with tropical fruits, caramel, popcorn, vanilla, coconut, vanilla and milk chocolate. On the palate there are also slightly bitter and woody notes, otherwise matching the nose. Overall, not quite as intense as other NY94 representatives. I still like it very much!

An astonishing nose of melted butter, varnished wood, overripe banana and fresh apple. Aesthetics are present but in the background. The varnished wood dominates the palate, lingering for a long time with a fair amount of bitterness. Melted butter comes next, followed by fruit. The finish is quite long, elegant and soft, with a Sherry-like quality. The alcohol is perfectly integrated.

Wow, today only really strong rums :) This New Yarmouth immediately convinces. A really pleasant sweetness thanks to caramel is clearly noticeable here. It's also fruity, coconut is well recognizable.

Delicious sweet tropical ripe nose ... fruity, spicy, slightly charred without being smoky. Alcohol barely noticeable on the nose. On the palate coconut 😮😮 chocolate , stewed plums dark fruits some bitterness. Slightly peppery ... Alcohol already clearly perceptible on the palate, stings a little but not really bad. #5484 13.07.2025 Second set with the guys after a wonderful dinner at a local Italian restaurant. Nose Fresh, medium intense, fruity, light wood, faint smoke, light cinnamon, light varnish, light olive, dried fruit. Palate Oily, fresh, medium intense, light varnish, fruity, light wood, light roasted, light chocolate, light coconut, light tannins, light earthy. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, light tannins, dried fruit, light anise. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, light licorice, light leather, light cinnamon.

Delicious on the nose, fruity, slightly floral, burnt sugar, coconut. Wood and some spice are added on the palate. Nice finish, on the woody, spicy side. Also coconut and burnt sugar. Still not my best 1994 NY. It's a little too restrained on the palate for that. The very first impression on the palate is even a little thin, the taste sensations are somehow delayed.

A really nice, rounded, and fruity 1994 NY. On the nose, chocolate raisins, some spice, and burnt notes. On the palate, tropical and dried fruits. The chocolate is still noticeable in the form of cocoa. Up to the finish, the chocolate raisin flavor comes through again.

Not as complex as Valinch and May, it has a bit of citrus on the nose and palate, but mostly dominated for me by chocolate notes. I would have liked some raisins. Updated as a more exotic fruit dimension felt on the second tasting.

Incredible fruit and especially nut and coconut aromas on the nose. I couldn't believe it wasn't a flavor rum. The coconut and nuts are brutally confirmed on the palate. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. Great rum!

Reduced version of the full proof for Bar Lamp Ginza, this New Yarmouth for Lime House offers a softer version than usual on this profile. The nose is delicate and pleasant with wood, spices (chili, vanilla), and especially coconut, accompanied by round caramelized and buttery notes that soften the nostrils. There are subtle traces of varnish and polish, but also chocolate and nuts. Some banana and pineapple aromas appear after airing. A pleasant but somewhat timid nose for the style. The attack on the palate is a bit lively on the alcohol, and surprisingly, after comparison with the full proof profile, there is a loss of intensity and aromas. Spices (chili, pepper, vanilla) stand out alongside wood and more roasted notes that head towards dark chocolate and brown sugar. There's a lot of indulgence in caramel, coconut, toffee, but also tropical fruits (pineapple, banana), citrus, and dried fruits. It's a friendly mouthfeel, quite easy-drinking but lacking depth and character for a rum of this caliber. The finish is long, dry, tannic, very spicy and warm, yet remains quite fruity, pastry-like, and buttery as on the nose. The finish takes on darker notes of wood, coffee, chocolate, and burnt sugar. To be clear, this New Yarmouth is a good rum, rather soft and evolving but lacking authenticity and complexity; it doesn't reach the level of the best in its style.

34 degrees in the shade. Tropical aromas jump out of the glass. Typical NY 94 aromas. Very nice wood notes (sandalwood or cedarwood, to be precise), plenty of chocolate. Nicely oily in the mouth. Good drinking strength! Great finish. Warm spices turn into warm dried fruit. As expected, a rum to enjoy with relaxed drinking strength. For me, it ranks just below the top tier (RA, Rom Deluxe, Swell, Excellence Rhum).

Nice round coconut on the nose. Slightly sweet and nutty. Very nice smooth taste. No pungent alcohol... Really wonderfully integrated. A beautiful drop. Really fun... Recommendation! Also confirmed good in the post-tasting. Super drop.

Really delicious 1994 New Yarmouth. Even the comparatively reduced alcohol strength is absolutely fitting and creates space for the fruity aromas, which in other releases in my opinion are sometimes pushed a bit too far into the background. Column still at a high level with almost dangerously easy drinkability.

Only a little ester but with great wood. Thanks to the long aging, ex-whisky drinkers should especially enjoy it. Despite the lower ABV, a few drops of water are worth it here, bringing out the wood and spices even better.
