Extremely unusual blend of medicinal and herbal impressions - with a little standing time it becomes rounder; that this rum is loved or hated is understandable, I personally like this composition

due to the previous reviews I was already prepared for some, but the rum is really really VERY special 😉 On the nose comes to me anise gingerbread, kumquat, herbal candy. On the palate just as strange, spontaneously I thought of Wick Medinait 😆In the finish juniper schnapps. Must not have more often...

7,5:On the nose, we are attacked with wild herbs, like Ricola candies, some mint, dark chocolate, some caramelized roasted nuts, coffee and wood, resin with dried currants, fruit compote and dried fruits. Aeration brings out some tobacco, licorice is still strong, underneath weak tropical fruits try to make some mark, but after some real rest, herbs go weaker, rum becomes more roasted, medicinal with smoke, perhaps even floral and woody. 7,5:On the palate, we have wild herbs mixed with chocolate, cocoa, licorice(molasses)candy, resin, mint, bitter orange, some wood and peppery, salty, juniper, dried currants, hints of dried fruits and metallic note, leather. All round and balanced. 7,6:The finish is dry, fresh, minty, spicy, quite long with some caramel, roasted notes, cocoa and coffee. Weird, but not bad at all... I like it. 👍 Edit:15.8.25, an oxidation rounds, balances the rum.

I'm undecided what to make of it. I'll take it as an experience of what rum can do. My wife likes aniseed and liquorice and finds it delicious, but the rum taste bothers her 😉

Cough syrup, iodine ointment, double juniper, Ricola cough drops and Rotbäckchen Immunstark juice in liquid. Strong, sour, bitter and woody-resinous-mentholy... Somehow totally crazy and interesting somehow but also really borderline and unbelievable as this is rum from Venezuela should be? Absolutely strange product ... I would not have expected now so at all. Whether you like it or not, everyone must decide for themselves. Personally, I do not necessarily have to have this rum again in the glass ...

Oha! I can hardly get this down. It reminds me of a Jägermeister / herbal schnapps. Unfortunately, he is not drinkable for me.

Once again, the vegetable-herb note almost omnipresent in the Artesanal bottlings recently both in the nose and on the palate. the first association is therefore also somewhere between cough syrup and salmiakbonbon. It's unclear to me where this note comes from - in any case, the whole thing takes up so much space in the profile that the underlying rum is virtually drowned out. With a rather straightforward Spanish profile like the one from Venezuela, there is therefore not much left aromatically worth mentioning. Too bad.

"Confusing. Clearly not my style, it doesn't taste like rum, but that doesn't mean it's bad. You have to like absinthe, jaggery and herbs. Nice, but not in the rum category! To sum up, my tasting notes: Nose: Herbaceous, Aniseed, Menthol, Medicinal, Butter Taste: Herbaceous, Medicinal, Juniper, Anise, Licorice, Menthol Finish: Fennel, Anise".

A sample I got, because it seemed interesting. Sometimes I should probably ask others, if they've tasted it. Very herbal in the nose. In the notes i find an almost medicin-like taste. Herbs and molasses in the end

Well, holy moly! Finish in cough syrup cask? Or is plantain juice produced on the side and the cask got swapped? Absolutely not my thing. Anyone who wants to drink cough syrup with more proof is warmly invited. Bottling something like this is... interesting. Therefore, 10 bonus points.

Meine RumRatings Review von vor 3 Jahren: Diese Rum Artesanal Abfüllung kommt aus Venezuela aus der CADC Distillerie. Der Rum wurde im Column Style 2005 hergestellt und durfte 17 Jahre reifen. Mit einer Fassstärke von 57,8% wurde der Rum als Single Cask ohne Zusatzstoffe oder Fitration abgefüllt. In der Nase zeigt der Rum direkt, dass es hier nicht ganz normal zugeht. Ich habe sofort starke Noten von Anis, Salmiak und viel Kräutern in der Nase. das erinnert schon stark an einen Hustensaft. Das ganze ist sehr medizinisch mit etwas Frucht und Holz. Am Gaumen bestätigt sich die Nase mit viel Kräutern, Anis und Lakritze. Dazu ein saurer Unterton und das gefühlt eine hochprozentige Medizin zu trinken. Ich habe den Rum auf einer Messe probieren können und war vor Ort überrascht aber auch fasziniert. Ehrlich gesagt, möchte ich diesen Rum trotzdem zu Hause nicht trinken, da er viel zu stark an Medizin oder Kräuterschnaps erinnert. Mir einfach zu viel. Aber man kann dem Rum nicht absprechen, dass er die Aromen intensiv und ausbalanciert rüberbringt... Ob man das bei einem Rum möchte mag ich dann doch zu bezweifeln.

Super crazy herbal. The finish reminds me more of mouthwash than rum but it's definitely interesting. But I don't need to keep it on my shelf.

I would not have expected such a flavor from a CADC. I find the rum incredibly exciting, but I personally would also not like to have a rum at home that is a mix of barrel-aged mojito and cough syrup. But this rum will certainly find its fans
