TRC Enmore Guyana Single Cask Rum REV 1994
Give it 15-20 minutes in the glass and it changes character: a heavy, dark Enmore that starts wuchtig and softens into dried fruit, prunes, leather, tobacco and cherry-chocolate. The 27 years show as oak, licorice and a "bitterness in the tolerable range," with the 53.5% beautifully tucked in. Several tasters call it the best-balanced 1994 REV they've had.
- Dried fruit, leather
- Integrated alcohol
- Long warm finish

How does TRC Enmore Guyana Single Cask Rum REV 1994 taste?
Aggregated from 46 community reviews.
Deep, woody 1994 Enmore for sipping slowly A favorite among 1994 Enmore fans for its dried-fruit nose and integrated alcohol. A few feel the long cask time leans bitter and woody; one called it watery. Demanding, not casual.

This one was the highlight of the evening. The nose was fruity with oak and cinnamon. Make sure to rest it for at least 15 minutes to release all the flavours. The palate is both intense, complex and very well balanced with oak, dried fruit anise and light licorice. The finish is long, warm and lightly dry with oak and cherries.

Most balanced representation of the 94 REVs I tried so far. Good balance of wood. Spices and dried fruits. Very nice bottling.

the Rum Cask has to prove itself today against the Greenheart 94 Enmore REV. On the nose, the RC is a little more restrained, although it has a higher ABV (53.5 vs 50.2). Other than that, it's really hard to discern any notable differences. The RC is perhaps minimally more floral. On the palate, both have wonderful length, the RC is a shade more bitter on the finish, or with more barrel impact. Overall, I have the Greenheart just ahead.

Phantastisch!

An excellent REV, but from the heavy dark side! Barrel impact and bitterness dominate! In my opinion, it does not come close to the RAAfter a fairly long time in the glass, it becomes significantly softer, but its basic character nleibt unchanged

In direct comparison with the REV of Samaroli from the same year (RX11402) slightly better, because less bitter and therefore discreetly more pleasing on the nose and palate. The more than 3% higher alcohol content is not noticeable in the REV from TRC, which speaks for a good integration of the alcohol. I do miss a bit of the maltiness that I appreciate so much. Conclusion: A very good REV, which, however, does not set new standards.

Wonderful aromas on the nose, prune, leather, some citrus freshness, wood and tobacco. On the palate come tart notes of strong spice and bitter wood influences - but in addition, some sweetness resonates. The alcohol is also noticeable, some spiciness resonates. Not quite as balanced as the top representatives of the 1994 Enmores, but still excellent.

Oooo - what a pity this one is little bit watery. It have amazing profile but ...

Review by w00tAN
Tobacco and mint are the first to enter the nose, followed by musty wood. In the mouth it is surprisingly mild but with clear herbal notes and a lovely long spicy phase. Herbs can also be heard in the finish. Beautiful rum, very mild and super integrated alcohol, but you have to be prepared for the dominant herbal notes. Especially at this price.
