The latest version of the Familia brand from Aldea Distillery. An Agricole aged 15 years in oak barrels. Fruit and vanilla, then wood, chocolate and leather and in the background tobacco, but only after it could breathe a bit. Before that, leather, tobacco and barrel dominate. On the palate somewhere between pleasant sweetness and spicy sharpness, again with fruit but mainly dry notes like leather, wood and tobacco. The finish then offers nothing surprisingly new, except that sweet honey is added. Solid rum, best compared with XOs from Martinique, even if it may not match all from there and is clearly less spicy.
