Clément Très Vieux Cuvée l'Elixir
The nose promises more than the palate delivers, and that's the recurring note here. You get sugarcane, honey and nutmeg up front, then vanilla, orange peel and oak spice on a round, gentle body — but several tasters find it flattens out mid-palate and the finish drops off short. At 42% there's a little heat too. Pleasant and cognac-like, just not deep.
The community says- Rich aromatic nose
- Honeyed and warming
- But: Flat mid-palate

How does Clément Très Vieux Cuvée l'Elixir taste?
Aggregated from 43 community reviews.
Rich nose, gentle agricole that runs a bit flat Most agree it's a well-made, easy agricole that drinks nicely — the common gripe is a rich nose that falls flat on the palate with a short finish.

Most helpful positive review
Nice compromise between Cuvée Homere and Cuvée de L’habitation. A bit dry.

#4969 11.12.2024 Enjoying a few samples at home celebrating that I have my diabetes under control. Got a lot of credits from my doctor being able to level out my 3 month bloodsugar extremely fast 😊 Nose Light wood, sweet, light, dried fruit, light caramel, spice, light honey, faint ginger. Palate Round, light, sweet, light wood, raisin, light grass, faint floral, light honey, light ginger, light orange. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, faint floral, light apricot, light caramel. The empty glass has stronger floral notes and light licorice.

Après le canopée JM c'est vraiment plus plat. Au nez mais aussi en bouche. C'est mielleux et épicé mais c'est à peu près tout. Un peu décevant.
Review by Fabrice Rouanet
The nose is richly aromatic, but on the palate it's already much flatter and the length is absent.

Read full review →The finish is rich and warming with marmalade and oak spice which fades into a dry and woody finish. A touch short yes - but what is there is very very good. A hugely enjoyable expression of Agricole Rhum and easily one of the best I have tried so far.
