This is a nice rum even considering the price tag. The moscatel cask is there, but in a very discreet kind of way. The nose is spicy and fruity with floral notes and light wood and herbal notes. The palate is also spicy and fruity with light floral, wood and vanilla. The finish is long and balanced between wood, plum and vanilla. I love that they kept it at a good ABV instead of watering it down.

Floral, shaped by the Moscatel finish Chamarel. On the nose sweet grape notes, some honey, light fruits and a slight herbal touch. On the palate initially soft, then increasingly spicy with nutmeg, vanilla and a fine winey note that fits well with the base profile. Overall a pleasant, harmonious Mauritius rum.
