Tropical fruit spills out of the glass — mango, pineapple, ripe banana — with only a light lick of polish and ester behind it. This is the softer, fruitier side of Hampden: 29 years old, cask strength but with the alcohol so well tucked in that several tasters barely flag the 57.7%. One member calls it his "favorite olive water" for the briny, vegetal streak that runs through. Give it air and a few drops of water.

Very good Hampden. Lacks some of the depth of the 1990 vintage. Tropical fruit, nice dryness and spice. Fun to drink!

Very strange 1992 vintage Hampden. I don't know where this sour, fuzzy mushroom and olive note comes from but unfortunately it's not my thing at all... For fans of more vegetable and salty notes, however, certainly very exciting. For me, a bit too much.

#6166 31.12.2025 Relaxing with some rums preparing for the New Year dinner and celebrations. Nose intense, fruity, light wood, polish, ester, citrus, mango, light banana, light cinnamon, faint tar. Palate Intense, peppery, light wood, light cherry, light chocolate, polish, faint tar, ester, naturally sweet, citrus, fruity, faint smoke, light anise. Finish Very long and warm, peppery, light wood, fruity, naturally sweet, faint smoke, polish, anise. Empty glass Licorice, light floral, light tar, faint sour, citrus, light chocolate, light cinnamon. Needs to rest for a good while to open up properly. A few drops of water releases a whol bunch of extra flavours.

High-end continental Hampden. Hardly anything to complain about. Complex finish with some acidity/green fruits. Great bottling.

The alcohol is outstandingly integrated. The tropical fruits come through wonderfully. A bit of wood. Good interplay of sweetness and acidity. But it lacks some depth. Also compared to other bottlings of the vintage.

my favorite olive water, getting better with more air in the bottle. great complexity with rotten fruits, vegetal notes, milk chocolate, creaminess, some wood but mich less than expected after so many years. everything is well integrated and it shows that these old Hampdens can carry the age easily. fantastic!
