Overripe pineapple, mango and butter meet varnish, rubber and dry wood — a Jamaican blend of Clarendon/Monymusk and Hampden marc at a full 66.3%. Super cool high ester blend! Very tasty and fruity spicy. Monymusk brings the citrus fruits and lacquer/menthol notes and Hampden the esters, the funk, as well as the buttery overripe fruit notes. All-around successful Jamaica blend with obviously high tropical aging share. I especially like the pronounced note of baked sweet and sour apricot with a decent portion of wood and rubber in the finish. A slight umami note is also present, which blind could almost remind of Long Pond...

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

Edit: The more often I tried it, the more I liked it. Adjusted upwards. Tasted at the Wu Dram clan stand at the 1st German Armagnac Festival. The idea behind it is quite nice. The union between Hampden and Clarendon. Where Clarendon is very dominant on the palate and Hampden only shows itself after the finish.

Yeah, a Hampden, don't really know what else to write. Of course, there are (overripe) tropical fruits here, you can hardly believe the mango, especially banana and pineapple, but you can also detect esters...

#5556 14.08.2025 Enjoying a few samples in front of the computer while offering remote support to my friend in Southern Germany. Nose Fresh, wood, faint smoke, fruity, overripe, light varnish, faint rubber, light anise, citrus. Palate Fresh, wood, faint smoke, fruity, overripe, light ginger, clove, faint rubber, faint nougat, faint coffee. Finish Long and warm, wood, fruits, citrus, light tobacco, faint rubber, clove. Empty glass Light ginger, faint rubber, citrus, clove, light varnish.

I found the blend quite interesting. You can clearly taste the Clarendon and Hampden components - but unfortunately they don't blend quite as harmoniously as one would wish. But that's complaining on a high level - still very good

A Jamaican blend that starts with a nose full of greed and flavors, combining tropical fruits, nuts, solvents, smoky and caramelized notes with a nice balance. Powerful in the mouth, the rum remains faithful to what is in the nose, with the same greediness. The alcohol is well integrated, even if the first sip is quite strong. The finish is long and wants to be warm and sweet, the apricot prolonging the pleasure. A very nice blend.

Interesting combination! However, it is not quite clear to me why one fabricates such a blend. At the beginning and in the middle part, the typical astringent Clarendon notes come out, in the finish rather the Hampden notes.

Only Hampden can be tasted , for fatness and esters . Poorly integrated alcohol , burnt plastic finish and bitterness .

Sample of Pueblo 2026. Very kindly supplied by Boris at the booth, now calmly at home. Let it breathe a bit, then you can sniff without a sting. Clarendon dominates a bit. Long finish with a crescendo of sharpness and mellow warmth. Some nuttiness, quite distinct wood.
