Les Frères de la Côte Foursquare Vieux Rhum - Brut de Fût 2011

Most tasters land in the same place: a textbook Foursquare that's very good but doesn't reinvent anything. Caramel, vanilla, bourbon and a distinct grape note run through it, with cocoa and wood on a long finish. Several call it "incredibly drinkable" for 65.1% — the alcohol is beautifully integrated. A couple find it a touch cloying.

Classic foursquare from the start with a great nose of caramel, bourbon and some grape. It’s a solid independent bottling and as good as some of the ECS offerings. Incredibly drinkable and well integrated given the 65.1% ABV. Mouth is greedy with some vanilla, warm cooking spices and grape punch. Finish is cocoa and wood with coffee and some chocolate. All in all a top notch foursquare, not worthy of another bottle but enjoyed it

Very round, intense profile. No great surprise from what's written on the bottle: Foursquare markers and grapes. Fairly uncomplicated, easy to enjoy, with very well-integrated alcohol despite its 65.1%. Good length on the palate. However, I find it a little nauseating.

Foursquere's handwriting is legible from the first sip. On the nose I smell leather, wood and some fruit - like apricots or plums. For being over 60% it is well integrated into the overall taste...wood, sweetness and a strong finish thanks to the %

In aroma and taste classic barbados, I think even blindly could hit foursquare. In aroma, caramel, vanilla and grapes. In taste it starts out as a totally classic foursquare, but after a few moments the grapes come in. Long finish.

An ECS-level Foursquare. It's very good and very greedy, but it doesn't do much more than classic Foursquare.

Sweeter, slightly less integrated alcohol. But it's not a bad FS
