Romdeluxe Foursquare Wild Series Rum Barbados No. 25 (Batch 1) 2007

One taster called it the start of their fascination with Barbados rum, and it's easy to see why: coconut runs from nose to finish, joined by vanilla, marzipan and a chocolate-banana note one member likened to a childhood dessert. It drinks silky and gently sweet for a natural 62.3%, with a light woody, slightly bitter edge on the finish that keeps it from feeling soft.

The community says
  • Coconut nose to finish
  • Balanced, silky texture
  • But: Light bitter finish

This Barbados is exactly to my taste and probably the best I have tasted so far. It reminds me of my grandma's favourite chocolate-banana-cream dessert. Add to that nice dose of coconut and wood. It is sweet, smooth, silky for 62% abv. I can't get enough of this. Definitely better than the 2nd batch.

.... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum that will be appreciated especially by rum drinkers who are fed up with sugar and looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Just pleasant and not aggressive flavours.

This is a great Barbadian. Once poured you know you're in Barbados. I love the coconut that is there from nose to finish. Seems like they hit the right barrel for this release. Well balanced overall and natural sweetness on the palate. Price to quality is very good.

A very good Foursquare from Rom De Luxe, in which the traditional components of the brand are not missing (wood, vanilla, coconut) + there are some extra spices. The 62% volatility is not very noticeable, but I recommend letting it breathe for at least 20 minutes.

Likely one of the first "Wild series" from Romdeluxe I've tasted back in 2022, and possible the start of my fascination of Barbados rum. Nose of tropical fruits and notes of coconut, vanilla and chocolate

Great Foursquare with the usual flavors, which brings a slight bitterness on the palate and in the finish, which makes it appear a little stronger. Very tasty and round, a top bottling!

More fruity notes than in its 61,1% sibbling. Less idiosyncratic and a bit more "gourmandise" so 1 more point.

Now that's a very balanced Barbados! Delicate sweet marzipan with vanilla. Slightly woody tail. That's a good one!
