"Kennste einen Foursquare, kennste alle" is how one taster summed it up — a very classic Barbados profile of toasted oak, coconut, vanilla and a little dried fruit. Several liked it and called it complex, but at 61.1% the alcohol isn't perfectly tucked in, and a few missed real fruitiness. Give it 30 minutes to open up.

I've now reached the point where I can say that if you know one Foursquare, you know them all. As always, the quality and taste are very good, as was to be expected. For me, it ranks in the midfield compared to the many other Foursquares I've already had in my glass.

After a long time, I have a Foursquare in the glass again. The first impression on the nose is mixed: intensity is there, cask and spice too but over it hovers a note that I would call 'Column Still' for lack of a better term. On the palate, much emphasis on cask, spice and roasted notes. In the aftertaste warming and with intense roasted notes. Somehow I don't warm up to this rum - despite the intensity and despite the 'warming' character. I miss fruitiness. Still not bad but the recurring mix of pot and column rum offers little potential for surprises.

This is a good release and the price is pretty good compared to what you get. The Barbados flavours are there and I like the warm touch on the palate. The chocolate is far more obvious in the empty glass after a while. Nice and complex and I should have ordered a bottle but my budget ran out.

Tasted together with RX1449 and RX18937. Very typical round Foursquare profile. In comparison to the others, it achieved the middle place. However, even in direct comparison it is not so easy to taste the differences.

And at the end of the day we had a Barbados from Romdeluxe. I've definitely had worse Barbados. Fruity on the nose, coconut and banana are recognizable. Lots of fruit on the palate too + some vanilla.

8,3:On the nose, intense, medicinal with glue, slightly metallic, toasted wood notes like caramel, sweet, roasted nuts, nougat, vanilla, coconut, dried apricots, raisins and banana, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, citrus fruits arise, molasses is floral, earthy, chocolate, leather, confectionery, marshmallows and baking spices join. 8,2:On the palate, the attack is intense, slightly alcoholic, medicinal, fruity with dried fruits like raisins and apricots, coconut, orange peel, later pineapple, slightly fermented, dairy notes join, buttery, oily with toasted wood notes, brown, like caramel, nuts, chocolate, warm with pepper, vanilla, ginger, oaky, molasses is earthy, floral. Bourbon barrel impact is obvious. 8,2:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, oily, with toasted oak notes like chocolate, roasted nuts, spicy with vanilla, ginger, warm, fruity with dried fruits like raisins and apricots, fermented tropical with mango, red fruits, toasted coconut, buttery, molasses is earthy.

Great rum, which impresses from start to finish with notes of coconut, vanilla, and wood. On the palate, dried fruits come in, making it a truly complex rum. The alcohol is really well integrated for its strength.

... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and are looking for a gentle, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.

A very classic Foursquare, where after the first sniff you already know what to expect in your mouth. Lots of toasted oak without any bitterness, but with the typical vanilla-coconut-nut combination, raisin, and some tropical fruits like mango and papaya. Really fine, but does not stand out in any way compared to other bottlings from this distillery.

Ended up last in the Foursquare blind tasting. Both on the nose and on the palate, simply too little happens and the alcohol is not particularly well integrated. In my view, the price-performance ratio is unfortunately not right here. For me, there are clearly better bottlings from RDL.

👃 = coconut, vanilla, woodiness and caramel are felt in a beautiful tropical softness. 👄 = the attack is logically lively and we add dried fruits, fattiness and a bit of honey as well as quite present alcohol throughout. A quality traditional Barbados rum but the moderately integrated alcohol might make some cough 😜

The flavor is inexpressive. It's prickly. Alcohol dominates. Caramel on warm biscuit, raisins, pastry spices. Sour-sweet wine barrel, angel's share. The flavor is alcoholic, some brandy, burning. I'm not thrilled with it. In the lingering finale, strong alcohol with who the fuck knows what. If in the aroma you can still understand something, but further swan to pike. I DON'T KNOW. Dark. Correct me if anything.

Reminds me of the 2008 ECS, which I like, but with more wood influence, a bit less well balanced because of that. Benefits with a bit of water, wood notes subdue and gain some nutty complexity

The aroma is average, but the taste is already developing classic Foursquare with wood, coconut and vanilla. I recommend letting it air out for longer (30 min +).
