This Ferroni from the Canaries is very pleasant to drink. An interesting palette but not excessive either, all well balanced and round thanks to the Dame Jeanne. You immediately enter the green with a nice freshness (Lemon / Lime / Grapefruit / Ginger) with a strong vegetal side (Grass / Hay / Olives / Iodized brine / Sap). Some eau-de-vie fruits wander and mix with the empyreumatic side brought by the big pot-distilled fermentation (Fermented / Copper / Rubber / Plastic / Smoke / Animal). Very nice sweetness, it's floral and finely spiced (Clove / Nutmeg). A rum that is nothing particularly exceptional given how it was made, but remains very pleasant to drink with a pretty aromatic palette. Quite nice!

Oops! The nose is off-putting at first, somehow meaty. Much better on the palate though. Overall not quite my taste, but not completely bad either. So, today I tasted the rest of the sample and I like the rum better today, even though I smell and taste all the notes just like the first time. Slight adjustment of the overall rating upwards.

"Intriguing! The olive is clearly present, it heats up a little but not too much. You have to like the salty side. To sum up, my degustation notes: On the nose: Olive In the mouth: Nutmeg, Brine, Saltiness, Olive Finish: Olive, Brine".

A bit disappointing, the aromatic palette of this rum is quite limited for a heavy, which is a shame. That said, in hindsight the rum remains easy to drink and hassle-free.

An atypical and unsettling nose with pronounced vegetal notes of mushroom and undergrowth. The palate is fruitier and the sugarcane is more present. Average 'plus' finish with a nice sweetness.
