15.06.2022 A nice day running through samples at home. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Intense, fresh, fruity, esters, faint leather, light roasted wood, vegetal. Palate Intense, round, balanced, light wood, faint smoke, spices, fruity, light licorice, berries, faint honey, faint floral. Finish Long and warm, light wood, esters, berries, light licorice, light leather. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while in order to release all the wonderful flavours.
In the nose, a smell that I know from a good white wine and that reminds me somewhat of fresh cat urine. 😂 Sounds disgusting, but it is not. Overall, I like it a little better than the 45% bottling.
Lively aromatics full of tropical and citrus fruits, tart spiciness, bitter notes of coffee and toasted wood and subtle sweetness of caramelized sugar. A bit sharp in the mouth, even in the finish the alcohol remains present even after more than an hour of time in the glass. Nice rum, but picks me up less than other high-proof bottlings from Jamaica.
Better than the 45%. Taste very intense. Very long finish. Would not have to have a bottle of it, but still good.
