Well-liked without anyone getting carried away — most tasters land around "good, not exceptional." What everyone agrees on is the punch: for a ReimonenQ, released young at high strength, the palate hits hard with licorice, anise and raw young wood. Candied fruit, menthol and a little nutmeg round the nose. The one recurring gripe is the short finish that cuts it off early.

Au nez on sent que l’on est sur un agricole ESB, il fait très jeune. Des fruits confits puis du menthol et sur l’anis, il me fait penser à un rhum de La Favorite. Beau boisé. Au palais, énormément de reglisse, de bois et d’anis. Pas forcément ma came mais pour les amateurs c’est bien fait. En terme d’ABV, ça cogne mais on est sur les 59%. Rare du côté de Reimonenq mais du coup bienvenue ! Pas une intégration folle mais c’est du à sa jeunesse je pense. Beau produit.

This rum from the ReimonenQ distillery in Guadeloupe is selected by Guillaume de Roany and Rhums du Sud. It’s a single cask aged for 6 months in cognac casks and limited to 248 bottles. Directly in the nose it’s unmistakable an ReimonenQ. In mouth and at the palate it’s then an explosion of tastes which reminds me of the first ReimonenQ I tasted long ago. I find it quite hard to identify what it tastes, but it’s really a great rum. The finish is short to medium which is the only reason that I stop at 8+. ReimonenQ normally releases their rum at 40%. So after tasting this one I really hope they will release rum at higher ABV. Overall a fantastic Agricole with a little too short finish.

This is a very nice and also a rare release. Very few bottles released and the price is amazing compared to what you get. A very intense rum with light fruit and floral notes as well as nice spices. There is a light caramel flavour on the palate and it goes well with the minty note. The high ABV has definitely benefitted the overall profile. Needs to rest for a while for the ABV to settle and all the flavours to be released. Noted that the empty glass is really nice after a while.

Un reimonenq avec un haut titrage d'alcool (ce qui est plutôt rare), vieilli 6 mois, probablement dans une barrique neuve. Le résultat est vraiment bon. Pas forcément complexe mais une vrai force aromatique en bouche.
