South Pacific Plantation One-Time Limited Edition 2009
People who like their Fiji funk softened and sweetened will get on with this one. The nose is the highlight — fruity, floral, light esters — but several tasters find the palate thin and a touch sweet, with cognac cask and vanilla rounding off the wilder Fiji edges. Toasted coconut, caramel and a little rubber show through. Easy sipping, just not very loud.
The community says- Fruity, floral nose
- Toasted coconut notes
- But: Thin palate

How does South Pacific Plantation One-Time Limited Edition 2009 taste?
Aggregated from 94 community reviews.
Soft, sweet Fiji with a thin palate Nice, fruity Fiji that most enjoy, but a recurring gripe: thin, sweetened palate and cognac cask that mutes the funk. Great nose, quieter mouth.
People who like Fiji fruit in a softer, sweeter style

Tasted against the Master Of Malt Fiji 13yr 2009. The MoM is clearly superior in nose, taste and complexity. This rum is still very nice and has some fruity flavours but it is smoothed out and sweeter. It has more wood and vanilla influence. I think it would be a crowd pleaser as it is very approachable but as a result it tends towards averageness which I find a shame when it is the variety in rum which is really fun.

My 100th review! 🥳 The nose is alot less fruit forward than expected from the official tasting notes. Woody and roasted with a red fruit/cherry hit on the back. Reminds me of a cherry flapjack. The palate is a medium on the dry to sweet scale. There's definitely signs of age with big barrel notes. But this is balanced out with papaya and a bitter orange towards the finish. The finish is long and there's a sweetness that's only really present here. Papaya still and the bitter orange. Possibly a hint of tobacco. Overall, it's delightful. Very well balanced. Benefits from a drop of water but once it opens up it's devine.

Black tea and toasted coconut all the way through. Flowery on the nose. Fruits and esters are dominant in comparison to the wood. There’s even a little volatility to this. The taste is woodier than expected. Subtle rubber and maybe even some petroleum. It’s intricate, but the cognac influence is too present. This has also been watered down and as a result it’s slightly too thin for me. Pretty good daily sipper.

I didn't really have high expectations, but I found the nose to be quite good: light esters, sweetish fruit with a slight floral note. On the palate, however, it is too thin... and the aromas are only faintly perceptible. First the sweetness dominates, then the cask. The finish is relatively short.

Well so me somehow too sweet and also too one-dimensional. Fruit is there but already lacks spice. Absolutely easy to drink but once try is enough for me here.alcohol is also not particularly integrated and comes at Abv under 50 noticeably through.
Review by Rick Meyer
The nose is fruity and fresh. The palate is vanilla, caramel and butterscotch with fruity background. Finish was longer than expected. I enjoyed it very much.
Review by Rado Vito
I really enjoyed this, it is not some highlight special superb rum, but sympathic one for all night sipping. I bought it for 40€ in the shop, so, I can only recommend it!

Plantation for sure can make great releases, but in my opinion this one are not one of them. Very self-closed, poor, and almost “empty” release. Bad experience.
Review by Blackbeard Bill
Lovely stuff. Some soft funk with some woody and chocolate notes in the finish. No alcoholic burn, pleasant sipper!

Fiji marker present ! A very interesting nose but on the other hand in mouth it is flat and alcohol which is really present. Disappointment
Review by benoit burger
Good but nothing more, fuity with notes of caramelized coconut, slightly spicy and woody. Alcohol Quite present medium length

Another one time limited edition. Fruity and sweet with caramel and spice. I would have loved a higher ABV though.

Fiji markers are there, cognac cask might bring too much

Mixed Fiji. I liked the One Time 2005 much better.
