Expect dark chocolate, banana, salted caramel and vanilla, with licorice, anise and a little pencil-shaving oak underneath. One taster even pegged it as an Enmore blind. The one recurring gripe is that at 55% the alcohol isn't quite fully knitted in yet — it rests better after some air.

#6566 28.03.2026 - Part 3 The first online tasting of 2026 of the group we had in Shanghai. Funny that we are now living in different parts of the world again. Singapore, Sweden, UK, Denmark and Thailand 😊 Thank you for the samples Petter. Another good bargain once rested for a while. The nose is round and full of vanilla, banana, coconut and light coffee. The wood is light and there is also pencil shavings in there. The palate is light and well balanced with light roasted wood, ginger, salt, caramel and light pencil shavings. The finish is long and medium intense with light wood, tobacco, light tea, prunes and anise.

8,5:On the nose, toasted wood notes like caramel, chocolate, creamy, spicy with anise, barrel impact is obvious, citrus fruits, banana, metallic patina, herbaceous molasses, vegetal with eucalyptus, dark with licorice, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, dried fruits, pineapple arise, molasses is fresh with chamomile, sweet with honey, roasted nuts, burnt sugar, cocoa and vanilla join, leather, perhaps cream toffee. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is creamy with toasted/roasted wood notes like caramel, chocolate, roasted nuts, spicy vanilla, anise, peppery, salty, sweet with molasses honey, herbaceous, minty, vegetal with eucalyptus, candied, slightly alcoholic, metallic and reminiscent of whisky, fruity with citrus fruits, banana and raisins, dried apricots. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry and tannic, with toasted oak notes, spicy, vegetal molasses with pencil shavings, herbaceous, earthy with tobacco, citrus fruits, banana, metallic patina..

The finishing in a fresh bourbon barrel has loaded this rum with a lot of cask aromas, primarily dark caramel, lots of chocolate, vanilla, and a hint of coconut. Added to that are some herbal notes, banana, anise, and licorice, as well as a fine honey sweetness. A pleasing and rounded thing, delicious!

In the nose, sweet notes of chocolate, vanilla, banana, and toasted caramel. On the palate, it mainly sticks to a sweet profile, again dominant chocolate, nicely integrated alcohol, and hints of bourbon barrel. Great value for the price.

Tasted at the Hielander whisky festival Alkmaar 2024. Tasted this in between loads of other stuff. My thought this is an Enmore. Creamy. Salted caramel. Nice.

On the nose lots of chocolate and cocoa shells followed by banana and a bit of caramel. A little bourbon aroma is also present. On the palate intense chocolate followed by woodiness that turns into distinct licorice notes. On the second sip come caramel, some vanilla and a hint of nuts. In the medium-long finish licorice and wood appear again.

So this is a Single Cask distilled in 2011 at Diamond (Guyana) and aged 10 years in Ex-Bourbon oak casks followed by a 5-month finish in a first-fill Buffalo Trace cask (which is a Bourbon)! Bottled in 2022 at 55% for 249 bottles. Pleasant nose: vanilla/pencil shavings/flambéed banana Spicy palate: licorice/smoky and vanilla (from the bourbon) Balanced finish: tobacco/wood A nice single cask that really represents the Port Mourant style! Great value for €75! I’m ordering a bottle right away…
