Just an amazing rum.

Very different from the That Boutique-y on Sauternes. Lighter on the nose. More wine. Less thick. Acidic. Way less woody. In the taste more classic Foursquare. No sherry more pinot noir. Definitely an interesting one. A tad weird too. Will revisit it.

A very pleasant nose of caramelized tropical fruit, vanilla and light chocolate. The palate is less successful, dominated by spices, barrel and a slight bitterness. It becomes creamy and vanilla-like, but unfortunately remains flat. The finish is medium on spices and tropical fruit, which reappear a little too late. A pleasant rum, but far from the FS I've tasted before.

Tasted blind and did not get super excited, given the age and profile I would have expected more. It’s a robust and well balanced rum but lacks any real excitement. It does drink smoothly for its ABV but on the mouth came across as too sherried and wine forward to the point it almost seemed dosed. Potentially a lack of time with Sauternes finished rums but I felt it to be solid but nothing more. For the price and my palate there are better options
