I personally like it best from the blended in the barrel range. It has just the right alcohol content and brings a nice spiciness of herbal and sweet spicy notes!🙏 Definitely the one I would recommend the most.

Because the previous was such a disappointment, I decided to open this one as well. This blend is a lot better than the previous one, but still not up to par with the rare cask versions. A very spicy rum and though pretty OK not one that I would chose as the first go to on a good day. Again a blend in the barrel rum, which means both destillates are added to the barrel right after being destilled and then matured together.

Uuuund der drittletzte. Diesmal Port Mourant & Uitvlugt. Ist auch eher auf der süßlichen Schiene. Vor allem Vanille und Karamell lassen sich erkennen, allerdings auch etwas Holz und Gewürze, sowie auch dunkle Schokolade und Kakao.

Brussels Rhum Festival 2024 Honey, dried fruit and a slight sweetness on the nose. Spicy, fruity and light herbal notes on the palate. The finish is long with fine sweetness and fruit, especially orange

A very gourmet rum that may seem nauseating to some.

Rumfest finally gave me the chance to taste these much-maligned bottles. Yes, it's (very) expensive for ten-year-old rum, despite the tropical aging, and that's my biggest complaint. It's quite full-bodied, perhaps a little too much so, given El Dorado's usual caramel character. But in the end, it's good, like El Dorado 21 (2020 version) only a little better. The bottles are pretty close to each other, but they're blends, so that explains it too. All in all, I think that these bottles, at around €100, would be a good deal for discovering some nice Guyanese blends that are pleasant and accessible, without falling for very specific stuff. The PM is very present here, with a lot of bitterness at the end.

Sweet Uitvlugt...?

My favourite of the blended in barrel range. Nose is a bit weak, herbs and prunes with some sweeter toffee. Mouth is a lot better, deep and interesting, sugar snaps and butterscotch and some light pepper and spice as well toasted nuts. Finish is medium length with some wood, spice, green pepper and candied fruits. Easy drinker and enjoyable but nothing special

Tasty, though clearly less than the green and blue versions.
