People who like soft, dessert-leaning Demerara will find a lot to enjoy here: 23-year-old Uitvlugt at cask strength, but rounder than you'd expect. Vanilla, caramel, coconut and dried fruit up front, with light leather and wood underneath. A few tasters even mistook the coconut-heavy sweetness for a Foursquare. Lovely to sip slowly, though some feel the palate stays a touch simple for its age.

08.08.2026 Retasting and still a pretty good rum ----------- First off. The price is a bit high for what you get. The rum is good but not up to the price tag. Fresh and fruity with spices and wood as well as light leather and caramel.

Spicy caramel (anise, licorice) and green (herbs, earthy) profile. I find it a little nauseating. We'll see how it evolves with bottle age.

Very soft and sweet nose with a discreet woody and earthy side.In the mouth, I could have thought of a Foursquare in blind tasting. It is very sweet, on the coconut, the greediness. A touch of acidity is also present.

Tasting date 08.08.2026 at Mr. M Nørregaards residence, together with Mr. Sørensen and Mr. P Chihan. RX22468 Uitvlugt Nose: Fresh wooden notes and spices, some Danish pastry, light herbes. Mouth: Balanced dried fruits like light raisin, caramel and fruit cake, mellow sweetness. Residual tast with elegant cask / wood, nutmeg, nutty. Light overripe mirabelle some light peach. Spices and coffee, light cocoa. A bit disappointing compared to price level. The glass: Light caramel and oak. Smagning “At Mr. M Nørregaards residence”

The nose is very greedy and pastry. We are clearly on a molasses rum. We find some nice woody, minty freshness but especially beautiful candied fruits. We are clearly on caramel with raisins! A very promising nose on the good fruit cake of grandma. In the mouth, it is round ... too round for this type of range of rum. We find elegant woody, nuts, empyreumatic notes but especially fruit marmalade. It is chocolate and caramelized in profusion! The finish is rather dry with coconut, coffee and spices. The nose of this ICBU 1998 is very greedy and it is really good to sip quietly in the couch but a bit frustrating. Because the mouth lacks complexity for this type of bottling (> 200€)

First impression from the nose is sweet with a bit of wood and vanilla, after some time more fruity notes appear (citrus, dried fruit). On the palate vanilla and wood are joined by leather, apricots and caramel. Overall a decent rum that would deserve a somewhat lower price.

First thing first - I am not fan of Guayana. But this one is ok for me, but I don’t need more…still not convinced to be fan of these rums. The nose - yellow fruits, leather…but it’s not intense like candy story…it’s soft.. The color is yellow.. The taste- at first - intense and strong . After some time in glass it becomes better and complex with layers. It’s little bit strange bit it’s bitter - with fruity tones - like orange bitter.Of course there are woody and fruity tones..The aftertaste is medium to long… But I don’t feel the typical guayana style flavor..

Tasting calendar by Pavel Špaček vol. 4 no.55 Sweet fruity nose with such a heap of coconut that I would confidently say foursquare. Pleasant, rather light sipper. Good rum, just afraid it has too strong competition at this price.
