Neat, this is a lot of rum: 73% straight off the column, so it burns going down even though the alcohol sits better than the proof suggests. Most people let it rest 20-30 minutes or add a drop of water, and out comes fresh-cut sugarcane, lime peel, olive brine and a peppery, grassy backbone. Surprising sweetness for a white agricole, and the finish hangs around.

Comparative tasting with RX890 Nose: as with the RX890, the alcohol is very well integrated and brings a lot of fruit and agricole aromas. The palate is also a little dull but not as much as RX890. This rum also delivers a little more sweetness. In the finish, the spectrum fans out again enormously. Because of the nuance of more sweetness, the 2015 vintage gets one point more from me. Both bottlings are very similar and exemplary examples of what rum matured exclusively in steel tanks can do.

Ein toller weißer Agricole! Sehr intensiv mit gelben Früchten, grünem Apfel und frischer Limette. Der Alkohol ist sehr gut eingebunden und der Abgang mittellang. In einem Ti Punch vielleicht noch besser.

RumX Advent calendar, day 17. A powerful and fruity nose, yellow fruits and apple in particular, citrus and a vegetal, herbal side. The palate is alcoholic, but at the same time incredibly fruity. At first disturbed by a very high alcohol, I am then impressed by the complexity of the aromas. Aromas which, surprisingly for a white rum, do not disappear immediately and even remain present for a long time. A sweet side accompanies the tasting very pleasantly. A very beautiful white rum, still far behind the very beautiful aged rums though.

Day 17 of the RumX Advent calendar: A big advantage of rum over whisky is that the raw spirits can be impressively deep and harmoniously aromatic even without aging in wooden barrels, as this Longueteau proves. The vegetal, grassy freshness of the sugarcane conjures up not only numerous fruit notes with a pleasantly effortless mouthfeel but also has the necessary herbal-spicy backbone to leave a lasting impression in the finish.

7,8:On the nose, fresh sugarcane, grassy, mineral and flowery, with citrus fruits and green fruits, peppery, intense, bumps into our nosetrils. On aeration, we sense sweetness of the cane, various vegetal aspects like earthiness, some olive and mushrooms, slightly rotten, smoky, sweet roasted almonds, even vanilla as it rounds intense first impression of this rum.If we wait long enough, confectionery with yeast and cookie dough comes out. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is hot, but balanced, tasty with sweet sugar cane, grassy and flowery with geranium, vegetal with olive, mineral and peppery, fruity with citrus and tropical fruits.When the rum is oxidized, it becomes nutty and salty, smoky, slightly bitter and acidic, but fresh with tea. 8,1:The finish is medium long, dry, the cane is vegetal, grassy and herbaceous, mineral, fruity with orange and lemon peel, peppery and slightly smoky..

RumX Calendar 2024 Day 17: Another unaged one, fresh and citrusy on the nose, the mind immediately jumps to a Daiquiri xD Sweetness like sugarcane! Possibly a Clairin? On the mouth much more intense & alcoholic than on the nose. Burns its way down the palate. Gets better with a little time, the freshness and sweetness are also present, but the sharpness remains. What comes after Overproof again? Definitely awesome in a Daiquiri, what a beast.

Last Sundays tasting was a great one and one of the best ones this year. This is the heavy stuff and you can pick up the flavours from a distance away just ope ING the bottle. Hot stuff on the palate but a very nice one. Try without water first, just let it rest for 30 minutes.

RX Calendar 2024: first impression on the nose: fruit candy (lemon), vegetables, stewed fruits, a pleasant freshness over everything. The high ABV is present but not sharp. On the palate, candied fruits, vegetal notes. I like it well for an Agricole blanc!

RumX Advent calendar 2024 Day 17. Honestly didn't expect this to be so good. Nose is nicely floral and vegetal, sugarcane is also recognizable. On the palate it's very fresh, grass and olive can still be detected here.

Day 17 RumX Advent Calendar 2024 Well, how to start. This rum is quite a board. Unaged and Agricole was actually clear, but I couldn't determine or narrow it down. After the resolution, I realized that I had already tasted a similar one (RX890). For me personally, it was nice to have had this one in my glass, but these are simply not for me on their own. It was also too alcoholic for me.

Rich sugarcane aroma, citrus notes, olive, caramel, subtle pepper. On the palate, brutal, the alcohol is undeniable, but the expressive sugarcane and fruit aromas offer an appealing counterpart.

Impressively good column agricole brut with well integrated alcohol for such a high alcohol content. Pear, honeycomb, star anise, salty olive brine, lemon peel and a bit of licorice. Really good. I think I liked the predecessor Genesis just a tick better.

Haven't had much from Longueteau in the glass yet, but I'm positively surprised again. Very nice unaged Agricole. Sugarcane, olive, a bit nutty, many vegetal notes and surprisingly a lot of sweetness. Plus a very long finish.

A lemony, peppery, agricultural white with a pancake batter nose is pretty amazing! It doesn't feel like it's over 70 degrees! It does get hot for sure but not as hot as I would have thought!

RumX Advent calendar day 17. On the nose for me clearly an unaged Agricole, and a very nice one at that. Plant aromas and no trash bin smell like I find in some Agricoles. On the palate then a true explosion of aromas with plant notes, not easy to assign, I find some fennel. It has good alcohol, I would guess over 60%, but it is very well integrated. A little water still does it good. The finish then fades very nicely with plant notes and a nice sweetness. This rum reminds me of the magnificent Bielle from Swell, so I would also guess an unaged Bielle.

Tag 17 RumX Adventskalender Sehr leckerer weißer Rhum Agricole. In der Nase Birne und Apfel mit ordentlich Zuckerrohr und ein wenig Zitrusfrüchten. Am Gaumen setzt sich alles fort mit einer tollen Cremigkeit. Abgang toll und verhältnismäßig lange. Toller Agricole!!!

RumX Advent Calendar 2024 post-tasting, 17 So, I managed to get the untasted one over with 😂 Sniff test: Agricole Then spiked and did the tasting not blund. Not my profile. I do unaged agricoles in the ti Punch but pure they just don't blow me away.

From the nose, no doubt, this is an agricole rum. But the nose is deceptive, the mouth quickly makes you understand that this is a column still brut. Beautiful sweetness and fruitiness with a lemon zest present from start to finish. Nice discovery.

Undiluted it is very drinkable considering the high alcohol content, but very closed aromatically. With some water it becomes a bit peppery and spicy, which does not bother. The finish is unfortunately only medium length.

Blind tasting Advent calendar 2024: pear-like, plum nose. Could be a nice fruit brandy. On the palate then with plenty of steam. Lots of sugarcane. Bitter limes. Great finish. Stays long in the throat.

Der zweite weiße Rum im Kalender und der hat ordentlich Power. In der Nase erstaunlich frisch. Erste Assoziationen war Waschmittel, da er auch Zitrusfrüchte hat. Dann aber auch mehr florales und rauchig. Hier passiert durchaus viel. Der Rum braucht Zeit. Am Gaumen sehr extrem intensiv. Würziger und floraler. Aber auch Leder. Der Rum hat mindestens 70%. Das lässt er auch merken. Ich kann der Rum nicht einordnen. Wahrscheinlich ein unaged Agricole. Der Rum hat eine überraschende Komplexität und daher nicht uninteressant. Aber überzeugen kann das Profil mich nicht. Ist einfach nicht ganz mein Geschmack. Aber die Qualität kann ich ihm nicht abstreiten.

RumX Advent Calendar 2024: No. 17 The second clear rum in this calendar. Very vegetal notes on the nose (lots of olive). Probably a very high ABV, which is clearly noticeable. Personally, the taste doesn't really grab me.

Impressive Agricole. Despite the high alcohol content, it's quite drinkable in small sips. Light sweetness, lots of yellow fruits and stone fruit. The rum feels rounded and harmonious. Best enjoyed in a Ti Punch with just a little lime.

Nez exceptionnel de canne à sucre fraîche à l’ouverture de la bouteille, il prend une bien plus grande dimension après plusieurs mois d’ouverture !! Je redécouvre ce rhum exceptionnel avec une sucrosité, une gourmandise que l’on retrouve également en bouche. Reste très « doux » malgré son titrage mais à ne pas mettre dans toutes les bouches. Un vrai rhum de dégustation qui explose sur les fruits exotiques et une rondeur rarement atteinte sur un blanc. Finale sur le sucre, la canne et l’alcool ! Je ne m’en lasse pas ! Oxydation du verre sur le végétal, très impressionnant !!

It's hard to describe this rum. Brut de colonne (no reduction, it comes straight from the still) but brewed and aerated for 2 years in vats! This is real, intense rum. Cane that explodes on the palate. It stings the palate with vegetal and citrus notes. It doesn't leave you indifferent. You love it, but you only dip your nose and lips into it very rarely, given the gaillard! It took 2 years to complete this little prince.

RumX Advent calendar 2024 door number 17. Almost as expected for such a clear drop a nose heavy on olives and tomatoes with a fruit brandy touch. Quite hot on the palate, there's power behind it. Still quite olive and spicy.
