Very unusual fresh almost green uitvlugt. Great is especially the note of fresh lemon peel. All in all dominates for me but times again the chewed and slightly coked pencil with which I do not warm. Of the fruit notes described here I perceive nothing ... Maximum something lavender medicinal tea but that's it then also😄

Starts off strong, beautiful, expressive PM on the nose and initially on the palate, but then unfortunately diminishes quite a bit as the glass sits longer, in other words: the rum seems increasingly woody and dry in an unpleasant sense, unexpectedly biting instead of "mellow with age". And this despite having opened the bottle a long time ago. I almost had trouble emptying the glass. No, unfortunately I wasn't completely convinced. Not my favorite marque either, but I know much more harmonious PMs.

👃 Buttery, rich, with beautiful tears clinging to the glass. Green tea, lemon, cardamom. A fresh exotic fruit juice, on starfruit and cinnamon apple, almost jammy which gives an impression of rum baba with dried & candied fruits. The metallic note of this old legendary still is present just like the wet wood of an old motorboat. An excellent integration of the 53.4%. 😋 The same fruits as on the nose. Then, a lively warmth sensation on lemongrass and eucalyptus tea. Brown sugar with milk chocolate too, slightly scented with vanilla, it's close to the smell of the crust of a Bordeaux cannelé. I also get roasted cashew nut purée, peppery and salty spices, black tea, umami taste not far off with a slight brined olive. A slightly smoky wood finishes the mouth with a little astringency. I really appreciated this kind of profile that mixes sweet/salty, fruity/herbal, woody/smoky. A beautiful selection.

#4082 I'd say the price tag matches what you get with this release. A really nicely balanced Demerara with light fruits and smoky wood notes. The palate is lightly dry and oily and I like the light floral note in the profile. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some licorice and black tea notes.

Very evolving. On the nose and palate, its profile changes a lot over time. I thought I'd be disappointed at first sniff but I wasn't. A clever mix of fruit, wood, smoky and peppery notes. Nothing dominates, everything integrates. Alcohol is perfectly integrated. Very good. Edit: second tasting of this rum. Superb bottle. What a pleasant woodiness: tannic but chiseled. Magnificent.

Surprisingly balanced Port Mourant, in direct comparison to other continental aged PM release already downright mild. Pleasant wood aromas meet herbs and kitchen spices and subtle fruit sweetness. Exciting PM vintage.

Pleasant and initially quite fresh PM on nose and palate, which however becomes very woody and nutty after a short time. Hardly any fruit to smell or taste, instead eucalyptus, some tea and vanilla. Alcohol - as expected - first class integrated!

I like it a bit more already. Definitely pencil shavings are very recognizable here. Otherwise quite woody, oak is noticeable, but also some eucalyptus and vanilla. Slightly smoky as well.

Uitvlugt or port mourant, that is the question 🤔😝🥃 All in all a very delicious, round, complex, fruity and floral old demerara rum with a lot of those lovely pencil shaving notes🤤 The alcohol is integrated very well too.

Pleasant, not too intrusive Uitvlugt with a nice nose but a little too dry palate.Nose: nice fruity-spicy, almost floral. Apricot and sour cherry with sweet lemon. A little caramel sweetness. Then slightly woody with vanilla and on a deep nose pull soft licorice. At the back still some pencil lead with -spice, somehow green and very light eucalyptus. 87Quite different on the palate: dry, bitter-salty at first, then again the pencil lead with eucalyptus. Lemon zest comes in. Becomes increasingly woody at the back and takes on a slightly green note. 74

Surprisingly fresh and pleasant to drink. The alcohol is well integrated. Classic notes of pencil, spices, and a hint of fruit on the finish – a typical Demerara with a fine twist. Good cigar partner.

Northern Lights Meeting 07/25: Nose very vanilla and fruity. Light citrus notes. The mouth is a bit watery at first, spices, peppery with a slightly sharp finish that is unfortunately a bit short.

Northern Lights meeting July 19, 2025. On the nose a nice citrus note, some eucalyptus. Extremely beautiful in the smell, I find it doesn't quite keep up in taste. Described nicely by Lukas as a tart apple.

Actually, I usually like this lead pencil taste, but in this bottling it comes across a bit strange to me, with a small "off note." For me, just nice to have tried, but nothing more, I miss a bit of the kick.

I find the 95 very similar to the 97 from The Rum Cask. Nice teen notes with fruit. Alcohol very well integrated. In the finish a bit more wood, but still far from the barrel influence of the even older bottlings.

An amazing discovery! On the nose, very floral, citrus and smoky. The palate follows with a dry attack, on tea, very eucalyptus, then a bit more sweetness in a second phase. Intrigued by a beautiful complexity, but ultimately quite disappointed... It's not my type of juice!

Not being a fan of Guyana I thought I should look for less reduced and more qualitative things. But in the end this rum doesn't change my mind. I find a slight smoky wood and always this dusty or even plastery side and very light fruits (nothing like the explosion of fruits I can find on jams or agricoles). I also have a slight vanilla and licorice side.
