The Rum Mercenary & Kintra Worthy Park Sample X Lluidas Vale 2010
Poured neat is how this one wants to be met — a cask-strength 12-year Worthy Park with banana, licorice and overripe plum, plus a distinctly floral streak several tasters keep coming back to. The 56.8% brings pepper heat. One fan calls it Worthy Park "in Reinform," though another found it oddly light and watery for a Jamaican. Anise and dark chocolate round it out.

Review by Rhum Mirror 🇧🇪
This is a molasses rum distilled in 2010 at Worthy Park, and matured for 12 years in US Ex-Bourbon oak barrels. Bottled in 235 units at 56.8%. Balanced WP nose: ripe bananas/vanilla/chocolate Clean, pleasant palate: caramel/coconut/Jamaican funk The finish is rather successful, with a nice woodiness and a touch of olive. A fine single cask that represents WP's universe well. It lacks craziness, but sometimes conventional is nice too...

A very well aged full flavoured Worthy Park. In fact if you like WP you can't go wrong with this. It packs a little sting at 56% abv but also all the bananas, overripe plums and flowers. I believe it's around 75eu which is well well worth it. Retaste: all of the above. Very floral. Greatness!

Second quasi-blind-taste looking for the best Worthy “the secret distillery” Park in my collection. Sample X 12y 2010 56,8% Velier WP 2006 11y 57,5 Kill Devil 2007 14y 59,1%. Let’s see! C. Light gold N. Fresh celery and other vegetables. Light fruits like granny apple peel and green grapes. Also, something with menace, like Guyanese pot still brine and a petrol sharpness that could be esters. After 15min all the mentioned aromas are still kind of shy, the composition is more present, but the sensation is that of a boring and pallid rum if you ask me. M. Light and floral. It feels as though the faintness of the smell converge into a rum that almost feels watery. It lacks the pot still Jamaican punch I’m used to. The punch I love so much. F. Faint and sour. Buy: No

Positive surprise - Worthy Park in its purest form is waiting here: banana, licorice, pepper spiciness, plus heavy sweetness of dark chocolate and some caramel. The surprise moment has the rum so not on his side, but qualitatively he knows with the known WP profile to convince.

Very nice sample. Quite distinct anise and a bit chemical. This definitely make me tick.
