Mezan Uitvlugt Guyana 2011
Opinions land in a friendly middle here: pleasant enough, but several tasters wish it hit harder. Vanilla, caramel and soft apricot lead, wrapped in young oak and a touch of pepper. The 46% reads oddly watered-down to a few members, and the sweetness can flatten the darker Guyana character. Most call it a gentle, easygoing sipper rather than a serious one.

- Soft vanilla-caramel
- But: Feels watered down

How does Mezan Uitvlugt Guyana 2011 taste?
Aggregated from 13 community reviews.
Soft, vanilla-sweet Guyana that plays it gentle Well-liked as an easy Guyana intro, but the recurring gripe is real: it drinks thin and a touch sweet, and the ABV feels underused. Pleasant, not exciting.

Some fruits and bit of somke on the nose. However, dominated by vanilla and sweetness. I think a bit higher ABV might have improved the nose a bit. An the palate this one feels watered down. Profile is dominated by sweetness with not too much else going on unfortunately. Its not bad and might work as a smooth introduction to Guyana column rum.

Tasted from sample Pleasant sipper - very perfumed nose to me (oak, woody and oak spices alongside some mild vanilla and maybe apricot?) Most of what you smell transfers to the palate - not overly complex in my opinion. Nice enough sipper - unsure if I’d buy a whole bottle 6.5/10

Sympathique mais un peu assommant sur le sucré notamment.

The usual problem as almost always with Mezan. Too thin and then not even well diluted. No particularly beautiful or exciting profile, in addition, despite the dilution still somewhat alcoholic. Too bad.
Review by Serge
Savalle Guyana with the typical flavors. ABV could still be a little higher and possibly also a little better integrated. But otherwise tasty and certainly also a good rum for beginners.
Review by Mc Pirate
Very greedy and pleasant nose. Soft mouthfeel of caramel and sugar. Short finish.
