As soon as you pour this rum into the glass, dominant aromas of vanilla and caramel immediately show. Over time, these shift towards fruity notes, especially cherry and sour cherry, as well as raisin and chocolate. After a while, the rum smells slightly earthy. Taste-wise, it's different than the nose would suggest. Sweetness comparable to a Centenario 25, significantly less than I expected. Very smooth but at the same time peppery with a slight chili heat. After the heat fades, fruity notes like cherry and sour cherry appear on one side, but also caramel and vanilla again, though much more restrained than in the smell. Chocolate and dark roasted aromas form a medium-long finish together with some wood. The delivery comes in a beautiful wooden box where it is nicely presented. The bottle is also nicely designed and made of porcelain.
