At 63% unaged, this Long Pond pot-still is a powerhouse — ripe banana and pineapple push through the funk, then a dry, astringent finish. Online tasting of various TECA and TECC organized by Mirco. First of all many thanks for the great split to be able to try them all side by side. Now I had to readjust a few ratings.

Night tasting of the TECC/TECA Community Tastings by Mirco. Today: the three unaged ones. As expected with the two Marks, the rums are not completely different and all expected markers are there 😉 Nose: Rum 1 mostly pastry/bacon, Rum 2 fruitier, Rum 3 most fermenting. Favorite: Rum 1, then 3 then 2 Palate: Rum 1 warmest and thickest, Rum 2 more stone fruit, Rum 3 very estery. For my taste 1 > 2 > 3 Overall for me 1 clearly comes out best, then 3 and 2 last - but without much difference. All tasty. Reveal: Rum1 = rx13569 SBS Origins TECA Rum 2 = rx13378 SBS Origins TECC Rum 3 = rx12601 Warehouse#1 TECA

#4041 They just keep coming those nice whites. Again a nice and fruity rum with a light sour note in the profile. Very fresh with some metallic and esters. I love that it has a smoky not in there. Price to quality is very good in my mind.

It’s a brutal powerhouse, a war horse. Used it mostly in little quantities for making tiki drinks. But to really finish it: a mojito with the last 6cl of the bottle 🫡🤯

A rum with a very brutal olfactory approach, strong phenolic notes emerge, on esters, nail polish extremely present, solvents or glue, but also medicinal notes, camphor and fermented notes. There are metallic aromas of copper, chemicals and synthetics. Behind this funky bulwark lie exotic fruits (banana, pineapple) as well as olives and lightly smoky, spicy notes. An extreme combination that's sure to open up the nostrils. The attack on the palate is particularly strong. The metallic, olive and ripe fruit notes are still present, but the whole is not all that harmonious. In fact, the integration of the alcohol is rather poor, as the full power of the alcohol is felt. The profile is rather spicy, synthetic and funky, but aggressive and unbalanced. The finish is rather short, with leather, smoky and dark aromas taking over. The funky, fruity notes take a back seat, while olive and metal come back to the fore. A rather unusual profile lacking length and finesse, but one that will stand out more in mixology.

Mirco's blind tasting TECA/TECC No.3: The 3rd unaged... and this one is also wonderfully suited as a mixer. It is a bit stronger than the SBS, which suits it well on the palate. The aromas thus appear clearer and more present.

Blind tasted as part of the Community Tasting Long Pond TECA/TECC: Compared to the 1423 TECC and TECA I perceive clearly more fruity notes here. Seems a bit rounder, but for me primarily a mixer.

A TECA frame with different markers in addition to what we already know. It is obviously in a first time the overripe tropical fruits that I will mention (Pineapple / Mango / Banana) all roasted or even smoked with very pronounced empyreumatic notes (Copper / Rubber / Metal).the spices that I find on all the Jam white high esters are well there (Cinnamon / Clove / Nutmeg) accompanied by a certain minerality with a little fresh / vegetal side (Olive in brine / Hay / Lemon / Lime)Where it's interesting is a gourmet note that comes in the middle of the mouth (Buttery / Honey / Burnt brown sugar).it's a very powerful and aromatic juice but very well executed and easy to drink, for what it's set of course.it's very good

Funky in der Nase. Am Gaumen viel Klebstoff, viel Frucht, ziemlich adstringierend für einen ungereiften Long Pond. Ein sehr schöner high ester Long Pong, gefällt mir gut! Vermutlich als Mixer noch besser.

Un nez sur le vernis a ongle, les esters et l olive. La bouche est franche, cremeuse, avec l apparition des fruits tropicaux, toujours accompagnés par le vernis et l olive verte. Ca envoie ! Fin de bouche et finale seches et astringeantes.
