Could not confirm if the CB and tensu bottling are a shared cask, yet both are very similar stats and taste wise. Very interesting in the nose. Citrus and grilled pineapple mingle with intense notes from the Virgin oak. Vanilla, caramel bonbon and cookies. Obviously somewhat bourbon-y but with a nice twist from the Hampden fruits. Well balanced on the palate and very tastey. The combination of the Virgin oak notes (vanilla, salted caramel) work very well with <>H essence. For me one of the very successful Virgin oak rum experiements.

For me the weakest of the 3 new ones from Cavavin... for me the Virgin Oak is too dominant and the fruitiness is lost... but on a high level, I personally think it will make a better show in the Mai Tai or Daiquiri, I will test it soon. Top PLV here too

Wonderful typical Hampden smell! A little too much Virgin Oak on the palate, not enough fruit. The mineral note is quite exciting, but tends a little too much towards tannins for me. Apart from that, very good, the 57% is well chosen.

A very fine young Hampden. Alcohol is well integrated. Edit: simply great for the price. Found another sample of it in the box and also tried it as a mixer. Super suitable for me.

I seem to really like the young virgin oak Hampden bottlings. This one is very strongly characterized by the wood influence, which is at the expense of its fruitiness. It's probably more for the mixers among us.

Strong, young Hampden. Great nose of tropical fruit, then lots of oak and some soap on the palate. Quite short and bland on the finish. Nice PLV, certainly good for high-quality mixed drinks.

A good average Hampden where unfortunately the wood comes through too strongly, also the alcohol is not so well integrated, although it was obviously slightly diluted!

The virgin oak really comes through nicely here—maybe too much. Because of that, some of the usually so fruity Hampden is lost. In the middle part, it might be a bit thin and flat.

Very interesting on the nose. Citrus fruits and grilled pineapple mingle with intense notes of virgin oak. Vanilla, butterscotch and cookies. On the palate, it is well balanced and very flavorful. The combination of the notes of virgin oak (vanilla, salted caramel) works very well.

A nice young ‘medium-high’ ester rum from Hampden. It works really well with the virgin oak cask. This one’s also fun….from start to finish: esters, glue, lovely oak, caramel, sour notes… yummy! I definitely like it

An absolute hit for the release price. Very loud on the nose and palate immediately on pouring. But does not develop as nicely as a longer storage (see picture)

Very pleasant Hampden that immediately spreads its fruity character as soon as it's in the glass. The alcohol is quite well integrated and the Virgin Oak cask has left some clear traces. Easy sipper that can surely do well in cocktails, slight upgrade due to the price-performance ratio.

... Hampden, the legendary Jamaican distillery that besides rum also produces alcohol for perfumes. In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. One of the rums you "must try before you die".

Very Hampden/funky jamaican. Overripe overfermented pineapple. Tropical galore. Somewhat musty in the middle palate, almost overdone but it gets fresh in the finish. The virgin oak gives it some menthol, not much woodiness. Powerful stuff. Pretty good.

On the nose there are tropical fruits, toffee, and light wood. A slight hint of something smoky. The flavors are not at all as fruity as the aromas. Wood and roasted notes with vanilla take more space instead. Despite that, very tasty!
