Beautiful 2013 <>H that requires concentration and a lot of time to breathe. Compared to the other 2013/2014s, much more pleasant mouthfeel and noticeably more tropical fruit. Great value for money.

This one was a retaste and I stick to my original score. A very nice Jamaican. Another pretty good Jamaica and again the ABV has bee integrated really well. Intense and funky with fruits and lightly dry on the palate and finish. I like the roasted wood in the profile. It draws very nice curtains in the glass.

For me, not quite the level of the Nobilis 2013, but very awesome release. The tropical portion of the maturation is clearly noticeable. On a par with the Warehouse #1 bottling.

On the nose, I like it well. The high ABV stings against expect hardly. And besides the fermented fruit, gluten / varnish notes obligatory in <> H, here also cream, cake batter, baked apple, candied. Pineapple, toasty and salty on the palate. The finish is not super long, but neatly tightens the cheeks (astringent).

So now another <>H today. The one with the most revolutions in the glass. I can taste this bourbon influence, which makes it stand out a little from the others tasted today. But can't quite keep up with its <>H competitors from the various vintages today. Solid, but doesn't come close to the other bottlings.

Tasted together with Colours of Rum Jamaica 2013 RX17342 The nose is very similar and a touch fruitier. On the palate, the alcohol does not seem as well integrated as in the CoR. The two differ on the palate: While the CoR remains sweet for quite a long time before it veers towards salty and olive, the S.B.S does this more quickly and therefore seems more bitter to me. Otherwise, the two are very similar. It's really difficult to detect differences in the aftertaste of these rums! I wouldn't be able to tell them apart blindly in this respect. All in all, I like the CoR two hairs breadths better because of its more pronounced sweetness and better integrated alcohol.

All the funk. Fermented pineapple go! Tropical fruits. Musty. Strong. Heavy. Dry. Pretty classic high ester Hampden. Not sure if I can ever get used to the 68%...I always plan it at the end of the night.

Yes, the catch of the day I would say :) Nobody can be against Hampden, they're all great. As usual, a nice fruity note and you can taste the ester well, but hardly any alcohol. Delicious, more of it :)

A fairly young and very powerful Hampden, starting with a very strong funky nose, full of esters, glue, varnish and solvents. There is a nice fruitiness with a touch of olive, butter and cream, caramel and pastry notes (marzipan). A slight hint of spices and barrel influence can be felt, without being disturbing. The alcohol is imperceptible on the nose. The attack is a real aromatic punch in the mouth, very intense and powerful, with heavy phenolic and medicinal notes, fruity and acidic on citrus. The tannic wood and spices add character with olive and caramel. However, it should be drunk sparingly, as the 68.3% are still there and could be better integrated. The finish is long, sticky and tannic, spicy, warm and heavy, both salty, a bit roasted, fruity, medicinal and woody. There is a hint of bitterness that stands out in the mix. A powerful, lively and expressive profile, a bit too aggressive and which discredits it compared to the Nobilis bottling, but still a very nice Hampden.

Typical Hampden nose. Esters, pineapple, varnish. It makes you want to go further. In the mouth, it explodes. The almost 70° are not too present. Fruit galore. Esters. A little iodized side. Too bad, the finish is rather short with a certain bitterness and astringency.

The alcohol is not very well integrated, it's a shame. Otherwise we have a very original Hampden with a rather sweet coffee-chocolate note counterbalanced by the punch of a high degree Hampden. Nice potential but not perfectly exploited.

Nobilis N14 vs. SBS. Crown goes to the Nobilis. While both are extremely nice, the SBS feels more heavy, roasted and closed up. The Nobilis almost feels elegant with a very nice balance between esters and notes from the cask. Both are beasts however and I‘m surprised how much I like them actually. Nice cask selection from both bottlers.

This one is really fun because there's just so much going on. Much less acidity than the 2014 vintage. Instead, more spices and herbs. Much more approachable on the nose and no sharpness. On the palate also pleasant and accessible despite the high alcohol content. I like it a bit better than the 2014 vintage because it's more complex and rounder. Top.

Another 2013 Hampden from S.B.S. As usual, the typical Hampden quality. Lots of esters, fruity (pineapple comes through distinctly). Not as rounded as, for example, the 2013 from Nobilis.

In all rums from this distillery, you can smell wild esters, after which your whole body soaks up the scent of yellow tropical fruits - mango, papaya, pineapple, peach. Very nice Hampden with the typical notes of fruity esters, pineapple, tropical fruits, etc. The rum needs time to stand, then the integration of the alcohol fits. Endless finish. Not for delicate rum drinkers, here the esters rule!

That's powerful! There are so many things that you get lost and don't know where to start... Extremely tropical obviously (Pineapple / Banana / Mango / Passion fruit) with some red fruits and all dusted with a nice dose of spices (Clove / Nutmeg / Cinnamon / Vanilla / Licorice / Ginger). All this contrasts well with the big empyreumatic side (Rubber / Brine / Smoke / Copper / Glue / Chemical) and the toasted notes gently brought by the cask (Coffee / Nuts / Chocolate) as well as some pastry notes (Brown sugar / Brioche / Crème brûlée / Gingerbread / Nougat). I like the little freshness (Eucalyptus) that unfolds on this finish. Finally, classic Hampden notes but always very nice of course!

The legs are very thin and slowly descend along the wall, this announces fire! Typical nose on the basket of tropical fruits well advanced and the glue. After aeration vanilla and caramel then chocolate come to add to the greediness, we would easily forget the 68,3°! In mouth, the attack is warm on spices (nutmeg type), the banana more than well ripe. Then come the caramel and the licorice. It also has a sour side which turns then on a very light bitterness. The finish is rather spicy and very long, it turns on a very pleasant mentholated side.maybe 4 or 5 degrees less to be perfect-> the H is the top❤️

C: Light Gold N: You should know that a CH Hampden was my first pot still rum, and it was love at the first sight. I went from Foursquare and sugared rums to 1300-1400 gr/hL AA in a blink. It was tuff, I admit that, but I’ve never looked back since. Anyways, typical Hampden with pineapples, nail polish remover and touches of vinegar. I would even suggest that this was more continental aged rather than tropical. It has the kind of intense lightness I like. M: The rum wants to eat your tongue. So sweet and fresh despite the intense aromas. That should tell you that this rum does not want to hurt you but loves you. In your face and wild, the way I like it. F: Who cares! B: Yes. I think I prefer this to the 5y HV 2016, 62%. I don’t know really; it´s just by memory I’m saying this.
