An impressive nose of flowers and fruit. An incredible floral bomb, very elegant, like a top-of-the-range gin! Not too much wood, a rum with finesse, atypical and highly original, a real discovery!

Too herbaceous, a rum, a medicinal or herbal bitter? It's very Branca mint, definitely not my rum
Review by cigares
A bewitching nose of passion fruit, candied fruit and citrus, with a light varnish. The palate is full-bodied from the start, with maracuja (passion fruit), white chocolate and spices. The finish is long and finishes on fruit with a slight woody bitterness. An absolutely delicious rum, surprisingly marked by passion fruit, with this light acidity and deep fruit. You feel transported to a tropical orchard. The empty glass is marked by wood and a slight smokiness, but the whole is perfectly balanced. Delicious!

Beautiful TDL, with well-balanced facets. Thanks Philippe for the sample!

A nicely balanced TDL with nice spices, fruit and a nice caramel and chocolate topping. The empty glass delivers even better flavours once its been standing for a while. A bottle hard to get already and if you get a chance you should give it a go. Price to quality is pretty good.

A rum with a double face!Very citrusy and vegetal in the nose and instead in the taste very dark with lots of wood, dark chocolate and a smoky/carbonized part to act as a side but never invasive! At times it reminds me of monymusk 1997 begnoni! The best thing is that it has a crazy balance!

T.D.L is on a roll at the moment, establishing itself as a worthy successor to Caroni, its defunct neighboring distillery. This rum is reminiscent of Trinidad's terroir, with a very expressive nose: aromatic herbs, varnish, rubber, roasted and woody notes for the intense side, then exotic fruits (papaya, passion fruit, pineapple, blackcurrant) and citrus (lime) for the gourmet side. A fine balance between power and delicacy. The profile is extremely fruity on the palate: blackcurrant, papaya, maracuja, passion fruit, lime and kumquat follow one another to awaken the palate. Menthol, coffee, dark chocolate, leather and well-melted oak follow. Caramel, spices (licorice) and dark chocolate darken the very fresh profile of the first moments on the palate. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, fruity and fresh, opening onto a basket of exotic fruits, herbs and menthol. The finish is darker, intense and dry, with wood, spices, dark chocolate and slightly empyreumatic notes. A very fine, extremely tasty T.D.L.

Not an expert on trinidad but this one is worth its weight in gold. It's good, even very good. This black side at the end of the mouth that brings out the sweetness in the mouth

Aroma: fresh fruit aroma, then powerful pharmacy notes appear and are very diverse, after the aroma becomes sweeter and honey, a sweet fresh apple aroma appears, then the aroma is very complex spicy fruity and fresh. Taste: thin, dense complex, a bomb of tropical fruits, then dry woody notes go into a long aftertaste after leaving a light long trail of dried fruits. A very complex, powerful and cool 20-year-old Trinidadian rum, which unfortunately has nothing in common with the first two, but is very beautiful without it.

Day 14 Sample de Luxe Calendar: Top TDL with nice mintiness on the palate. The nose is somewhat closed, but nice notes of padsion fruit and herbs. In the taste everything is extreme again. Really another top bottling

Wow really an interesting drink!

A beautiful fragrance full of tropical fruits, spices and my beloved technicality. On the palate, the initial fruity notes are complemented first by mint, later by smoky wood and leather. The finish is warm, long and very pleasant. A beautiful complex rum.

87 points. A very good TDL, all the aromas are present but I would have appreciated a little more menthol on the palate. This TDL almost seems medicinal, the rum is thick, almost like a sirop which isn’t a bad thing. Not my favourite of the 2002 vintage but very good nonetheless.

"A TDL like running through a petal field or a canola field in bloom. has a little tone of jamaica in there and gets into a really nice melange. Some way afar from the menthol TDL but nontheless a really great iteration from CC."
