Oliver & Oliver Ron Esclavo XO Cask 2016
Here's the surprise: at 65% ABV, several tasters found this one drinks far milder than the number suggests. Expect thick, syrupy sweetness up front — vanilla, caramel, coconut, dried fruit and honey — with a varnish edge. One member called it a "Likör mit Turbolader" (a liqueur with a turbocharger), which sums up the sweet-but-strong split people fall on.

How does Oliver & Oliver Ron Esclavo XO Cask 2016 taste?
Aggregated from 56 community reviews.
Sweet, thick, high-proof dessert sipper Divisive. Some love how well the 65% is buried under thick vanilla-caramel sweetness; others find it cloying and the alcohol poorly tucked in. A sweet Dominican, not a dry sipper.

Amazingly mild for 65% alc., wonderfully integrated
Review by crazyforgoodbooze
Extremely sweet, extremely poorly integrated alcohol and just totally incongruous. 🤦🏼♂️
Review by TheJackDrop
Quite a classic aroma for a bourbon-fired solera. Well-integrated alcohol, fairly thick, lots of aroma, a note of vanilla, wood and candied fruit, quite strong on the finish. A very fine discovery.
