A pretty good release in my mind. Not super fruity but I like the nutty part and the roasted wood. Lightly dry on the palate but also warm and nice. Well balanced overall profile and the price tag is pretty OK.

Durchaus ansprechendes Profil.

A Spaniard with Wumms! Although he can not hide his Spanish roots, this rum fascinates me a bit. Although now no taste mega-highlight, he brings intense flavor. Surely its 69% contribute their part, but these are quite suitable and tameable after some time in the glass. Especially on the palate, dark flavors of nut and chocolate and, interestingly, a hint of lime show up. In conjunction with the Spanish basic character an exciting mixture. I would rather not buy a bottle, but once again something different in glass, I like!

Fresh tropical fruits, pineapple definitely, vanilla. On nose it reminds rum from Thailand, there are something special in these taste profiles. Mix of fresh fruits, spices, ginger.

On the nose you immediately recognize the Spanish style: metallic, fresh, fruity, almost floral. On fruit apricot with green apple and lime zest. In addition, a slight note of caramel. Reminds me a bit of white wine. With time it gets a slightly smoky undertone of vanilla pipe tobacco. Out the back also still slightly vinegar. The high alcohol bites a bit at first.Palate: initially astringent and slightly bitter to peppery, which may also be due to the 69%, then goes into the metallic fruity. Again there is apricot with lime zest. It also seems woody with a tart nuttiness similar to hazelnut and becomes increasingly chocolaty. Out the back it has light tobacco. Remains metallic and becomes a bit more herbal. The high ABV makes it a bit more interesting.

reminds me of other high-end Spanish like the Tres Hombres Captain's Choice Ed 15 (Dom.Rep.). On the nose nutty-sweet (Nutella), floral, cherry wood. The high ABV brings that certain sweetness to the palate as well, but at the same time the alcoholic spiciness is very present. Interesting rum, but my favorite he will probably rather not...

Alcohol unfortunately not particularly well integrated, quite sharp and metallic. Overall, quite a nice basic Spanish profile, but for this price there must definitely be more on offer. A few drops of water open up the rum considerably and reveal beautiful notes of green apple, apricot, lime zest, caramel and black pepper. Now it starts to be a bit more fun. With the background that it is almost the only cask strength Ecuador rum, it is a solid drop but far from a "must have".
Review by Johannes
Taste good, solid Spanish, where the alcohol could be better integrated. Complexity is somewhat lacking.
Review by Jarek
Review by Gregor
Very strong. However, not very complex
