The farmer’s palate says: Typical Sancti Spíritus. Floral, fresh, green fruits, most likely apple. Alcohol quite well integrated. Slightly bitter on the finish. Still would guess not too long aging, maybe 10-12 years. Pleasant to the farmer’s palate. 😉 Update 2025-03-11: After yesterday’s re-tasting I have to downgrade the rum significantly (what 2 more years of experience can do ...). The rum initially tastes refreshingly exotic and alcoholically punchy but falls apart with increasing standing time and then (even with added water) is hardly drinkable, a spritzy something. This is a surprising development I have never encountered before. The rum is simply poorly made craftsmanship-wise, the distillation apparently not quite clean. New conclusion: If you see it as an interesting experiment for 45 EUR and drink it quickly, 72 points (10 less than the tasting 2 years ago) are still justifiable.

First of all, many thanks to Gunnar for the blind sample. Since it was my first rum from the distillery, I really struggled here. The nose I found quite inviting and slightly reminded me of Savanna with the chewing gum note. On the palate then somehow meaningless, relatively sharp and piercing without conveying anything. Nice to have something new in the glass, but I won't necessarily become a fan of the distillery because of it.

Probably a Sancti Spiritus. For me, once again just another spritzy Cuban without any distinctive character for the cola.
